Former WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion Dominic Mysterio who is the son of professional wrestling legend and former three times WWE World champion Rey Mysterio recently explained why he does not want to wrestle his father.
Dominik Mysterio is currently going through quite a bad time right now. He was going through a storyline with Sami Zayn where he faced the former two times WWE Intercontinental Champion for a number of times in the recent weeks. On every occasion, he lost to Sami Zayn.

Why Dominik Mysterio Does Not Want To Wrestle His Father
Even Rey Mysterio lost to semi recently, it was the quarter final of the King of the Ring tournament 2021. But the feud would not be continuing anymore since the Mysterios are going to Monday Night RAW and Sami Zayn will be staying on SmackDown.
At the first glance this feud will look like nothing very important. It was just like another WWE feud now a days where there is no storyline whatsoever, just two random guys fighting each other for no reason. But there is something equally important about this feud. Throughout this feud WWE teased a rivalry between Rey – Dominik: a potential father-son rivalry.

This is not something very common in WWE. The last and perhaps the only father-son feud that took place in WWE was way back in 2001. Twenty years ago the owner of WWE Vince McMahon and his son Shane McMahon Had a feud. They even had a one on one match at the greatest pay-per-view event in professional wrestling history, WrestleMania X-Seven.
But after that there has not been any father vs son feud in WWE. At a point It looked like WWE might be booking and other father vs sonAt a point it looks like WWE might be booking another father vs son feuds. after two decades.
But Dominik Mysterio attended all the possibilities when he revealed that he does not want to feud with his father. Recently he spoke to Sportskeeda where he clearly mentioned that he does not want to feud with Rey Mysterio. Here is what he had to say;

“Me personally, I wouldn’t like to get in the ring with my dad just because I think there’s so much more that we can still do. What you’re seeing on TV is how we argue, fight, and how we bump heads. That’s 100% us. He literally nitpicks everything. Sometimes it gets to the point when no cameras are on us and I’m like, ‘I get it pops. I see what I’m doing here.’
“It’s frustrating, but at the same time, I understand where he’s coming from as a dad trying to help me out. I think it’s important for me to realize that, but I don’t know if I see myself jumping in the ring and trading blows with him just because at the end of the day, that is pops. We fight. We’re going to fight. That’s part of nature, but I don’t know if I’d go in there and trade blows with him.”
