On the first night of WWE draft, that took place on the previous episode of Friday Night Smackdown, WWE Undisputed Universal Heavyweight champion the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns became the first draft pick off the WWE Draft 2023 and he was drafted to Friday Night Smackdown.

Honestly it was a pretty shocking decision. It was reported by almost all the media sources that the Tribal Chief would be bringing the WWE Universal Heavyweight championship to Monday Night RAW and the newly launched World Heavyweight Championship would go to Friday Night Smackdown.

Why WWE Decided To Keep Roman Reigns On Smackdown

It was also reported that the main priority of USA Network was having Roman Reigns on their show which is Monday Night RAW. It was being said that they were desperately looking for a separate World Championship since the two world titles got merged last year. But now they are main priority stood for the Tribal Chief.

But when it was reported that Roman Reigns is staying in SmackDown along with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa, everyone were literally shocked. What happened to all those rumours and reports that got aired earlier? What might have been the reason behind this shocking decision taken by WWE?

Now before we go to any more discussion, we must admit one thing that the reason we are giving here of the tribal chief staying in SmackDown is completely our personal opinion and we are not claiming it to be the exact real news. You are requested to decide if our opinion has anything to do with reality.

If Roman Reigns went to Monday Night RAW, it would have been pretty much clear that he would not defend his title regularly. The same thing would definitely happened to SmackDown as well. He will defend his title in three or four months. He would not appear regularly either. A show without a consistent world title is white boring which we have already seen WrestleMania 38.

Raw is a three hour long show. If it could not offer World Championship segment regularly, it would lose more TV ratings and viewership. More people would get bored soon. Managing a two hour show with irregular World Championship segments would have been easier. We have already seen how boring Monday night RAW was last year when there was no world title segment week after week.

We believe this was the actual reason behind keeping Roman Reigns on SmackDown. Another questionable decision that WWE made was keeping Cody Rhodes on Monday Night RAW, which clearly indicates towards the end of Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes feud as of now. We would discuss about the possible reason behind keeping him on RAW in another story.
