For the new generation fans, it might be a little difficult to understand what a lower mid card title could be. Well, believe it or not, there was a championship during the famous WWE Attitude Era called European Championship.
It was held by the likes of British Bulldog, Shawn Michaels, Owen, Triple H, and Kurt Angle, it mainly came to existence as a lower mid card title. This is the biggest reason why most of the talents were well utilized back in the Attitude Era, and fans still remember all the wrestlers involved with the company.

Why WWE Should Bring Lower Mid Card Titles Back – Analysis
There was also the Hardcore Championship at the time and it was also a title for lower mid cards and jobbers. Moreover, everyone in the roster had something to do.
Today, however, we have a huge roster in WWE and most of the wrestlers do not have anything to do at all. So many wrestlers do not get any booking, and for many weeks they did not get to work at all.
The introduction of the 24/7 championship seemed like WWE is finally brining something for the lower mid cards and the jobbers or the undercards. But now, it looks like the title is only created for R Truth who already has registered 51 title reigns by his name. And nowadays, it does not even feature on the main shows.

This is the biggest reason why WWE should bring lower mid card championships back, one title for each primary show; Raw and Smackdown. Even there are great ideas to book this title’s first appearance as well. They can make an inter promotional tournament to crown the first winner of the that title. The brand that loses brings their own mid card title as well. This already sounds pretty interesting.
Needless to say, WWE European Championship was the last championship they kept for the lower mid cards. It was unified with the WWE Intercontinental Championship back in July 25th, 2002. After that, WWE created two mid card titles for both Raw and Smackdown. At first, the IC title went to Raw, and the United States title went to Smackdown.

In 19 long years, WWE could not plan for a such a title. And right now, when WWE needs it the most, there is no sign of them to book something like this. We are pretty sure that no talents will get buried if they do so.
So many big names like Ricochet and Shincuke Nakamura have absolutely nothing to do right now. Only a lower mid card title save terrible reputation of WWE of burying big names. We hope they think about this soon. It will be good for the viewers, the company, as well as the wrestlers.
