Following Summerslam 2022, WWE announced that Ronda Rousey would be fined and suspended for her actions at the PLE. After losing to Liv Morgan in a SmackDown Women’s Championship match, Ronda put her hands on the match official to summon the punishment on herself. WWE did announce the same but they did not disclose the length of this kayfabe punishment.

With that, fans are speculating whether the top attraction of Smackdown TV will be out for a long time or not. The good news is that Ronda Rousey is not expected to miss too much time during this suspension. She is anyway booked to compete in a match at the Clash at the Castle premium live event scheduled for September 4. If the plans remain intact then this suspension should be over before the PLE arrives.

Will Ronda Rousey Be Absent For Long Time After WWE Suspension? 1

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the timeframe for Ronda Rousey’s return. He was unable to disclose anything particular about the situation but the hiatus would apparently be intact for a month or less. It was added that the former Smackdown Women’s Champion will be back before the huge stadium event in Cardiff, Wales.

“Not that long. I mean, she’s booked on the Cardiff show, so she’s going to be unsuspended at least before – I think she’ll be out for I don’t know how long, but it’s not going to be a month, put it that way because she’s got to be back for the pay-per-view show.”

Ronda Rousey was unhappy with Summerslam 2022 match outcome

In the co-main event of WWE SummerSlam 2022, Liv Morgan retained the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey in a rematch from Money in the Bank. The finish of this match was controversial as Ronda was on her back while having Liv trapped in the Armbar submission.

Due to this, the referee began counting the pin and he never realized that Liv was already tapping out. Thus, Liv was awarded the victory via pinfall. Ronda Rousey wasn’t happy with the decision and she proceeded to attack both Liv and the referee after the match.

An irate Rousey attacked the official after her SmackDown Women’s Title Match, claiming he missed Liv Morgan tapping out to the Armbar while he counted the pinfall.
Due to her suspension, Rousey will not appear on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown.”
