The one on one match between Edge and AJ Styles at WrestleMania 38 had arguably been the most anticipated match of the night. Some of the fans were even more excited for this match than the main event which is going to take place letter to night between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.

But why there were so many expectations from this match? The biggest reason behind all these expectations is, it is a dream match indeed. We have all seen people simulating this match on video games over and over throughout years. This is definitely a huge deal that WWE is finally producing this dream match and that is also at the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania 38.

WrestleMania 38 Results – Edge Vs. AJ Styles

WWE did a nice job in building this feud as well. They could have just book the match and wait till WrestleMania arrives. Fans would have been equally excited for the match since a dream is coming into reality. But WWE did not just take the match and took things for granted, they put real effort on building a feud, and kudos to them for it.

There were some fears as well about this match since AJ Styles had already messed up one dream match previously. It was AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura which took place at WrestleMania 34. Fans had really high expectations from this match but ultimately it turned out to be an average match. Some fans feared about this match as well.

AJ Styles got his face cut somehow before the match. When he was making his entrance, his cheek was bleeding badly. Edge got a special entrance and it was cool. A lot of fans expected this match could be the best match of WrestleMania 38.

It looked like Edge was working with a minor knee injury from the very beginning of the match which was not kayfabe. It had been a slow match. It was more of a technical match. This is what you get when you put two of the greatest performers against each other.

The match was booked for twenty four minutes which was the longest so far and it was one of the best technical matches of WrestleMania 38. One thing that remained missing from the match was lack of near falls. Damian Priest delayed AJ’s Phenomenal Forearm which Edge countered with a Spear and pinned AJ. After the match, Edge and Damian Priest showed an alliance.
