This is another match for WrestleMania 38 that received a weak booking. Even though Pat McAfee coming back to action after more than a year is definitely a matter of anticipation for the WWE fans. Austin Theory on the other hand had been projected as the next big thing of WWE. So this match was definitely be quite interesting to look at.
Austin Theory had never been projected as a potential star while he was in the NXT. So when he came to the main roster for the first time during the WWE draft last year, nobody expected him to have a big push. But it was quite shocking that WWE started to present him as a future star.
WrestleMania 38 Results – Pat McAfee Vs. Austin Theory
There is no confirmation on the fact if Pat McAfee is coming back to action on a full time basis. He is quite good in the ring so he should be back on a full time basis. Expectations were high from this match since the next day project of WWE was involved in this match.
Theory had been presented as the kayfabe protege of Vince McMahon whom he kept on trying to impress. Finally he got an opponent for WrestleMania 38 who turned out to be Pat McAfee. There is not enough build up of this feud. Every just kept on harassing McAfee who had to wait till tonight to get his hands on him. That was all the build up the feud received.
Before the match, Vince McMahon came out and addressed Austin Theory as a future “Universal Champion.” Was that a potential spoiler for the main event? We all know when a title gets unified, the title the winner holds becomes the ultimate title. So Roman Reigns is winning?
Pat McAfee had been really entertaining in this match. The fans in the arena was totally hooked with McAfee throughout the match, inside and outside the ring, he had been amazing. It was indeed one of the most entertaining matches of WrestleMania 38.
The match was booked for ten minutes and McAfee was really the biggest star of this match. Not only he was great in this match but thoroughly entertained the fans as well. McAfee won the match by pinfall.
After the match, Vince McMahon, yes Vince McMahon got involved in MATCH with Pat McAfee. It had to be biggest shocker of the event. Can you believe a 76 year old physically involved in a wrestling match? Austin Theory kept on interfering throughout the match. Vince McMahon won the match ultimately. McAfee did not get a single shot of offense, obviously.
After the match, Stone Cold Steve Austin came out to the ring. What an epic moment! Once again we got to witness some glimpses of the epic rivalry of Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon. Austin took out Theory first, he sold the Stunner amazingly. Austin first handed a beer to McMahon. When he started drinking it he hit a Stunner on McMahon. What an epic moment!
