Bianca Belair has become the new WWE RAW Women’s Champion on last night’s WrestleMania 38 Night One event. The EST of WWE defeated Becky Lynch to begin the reign. After surviving multiple Manhandle Slams and Dis-Arm-Her maneuvers, Belair countered another second rope Manhandle Slam attempt with a big KOD finisher to secure the pinfall win.

Thus, Wrestlemania 38 marked the start of the first reign as the Raw Women’s Champion for Belair. Lynch picked up the belt on the October 22 SmackDown after a championship exchange with Charlotte Flair, who was awarded the SmackDown Women’s Title. Both these superstars were picked by the opposite brand during the 2021 Draft, back then.

Lynch had won the Smackdown Women’s Title from Belair at SummerSlam last August, defeating her in just 26 seconds during her return. Before dropping the belt, Lynch held the red brand strap for 161 recognized days she claims to hold the title since Wrestlemania 35. Then, Wrestlemania 38 marked her first pinfall loss with the title on the line.

Smackdown star suffered injury at Wrestlemania 38

In another title match from Night One of WrestleMania 38 SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Usos retained their titles over Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura in the opening contest.

The match had to be ended in a hurried manner after Boogs suffered a knee injury. There was a spot in the match where Boogs had Jey Uso on his shoulders after which he tried to add Jimmy Uso for a double Fireman’s Carry. But as Jimmy jumped up onto Boogs’ shoulders, Boogs’ knee gave out and he fell down to the mat.

Boogs had to roll out to the floor as he was getting checked out by trainers. The Usos had an easy win over Nakamura, thereafter as they pinned the Japanese Superstar with the 1D move to retain their titles at Wrestlemania 38.

After the match, Nakamura joined Boogs at ringside to check on him while The Usos made their exit. Boogs had his knees wrapped up and the trainers also helped Boogs walk away from the ringside area. After a few steps, they literally had to carry him to the stage indicating a serious injury. We expect more updates on Boogs’ condition following Wrestlemania 38.
