The match of Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38 remained one of the most anticipated matches since WWE kept the opponent of Rollins a secret till tonight. And everybody likes surprises. This is the biggest reason why fans waited to see this match.
A number of names previously came out on who could be the opponent of Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38. The most common name was, of course, the returning Cody Rhodes. Most of the fans wanted to see the former AEW star going toe to toe against Rollins.
But with the reputation WWE had of spoiling such moments, a lot of fans were not enough optimistic either. We have a lot of terrible entries in the Royal Rumble match. Who can forget Roman Reigns entering at number 30 on Royal Rumble 2017. And of course the mystery partner of Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 34.
Some of the fans were expecting to see Shane McMahon as well since it had been reported earlier by PWInsider that the son of Vince McMahon is coming back for WrestleMania 38. Some were even less hopeful, a lot of fans were even expecting some random wrestler from the roster. Some were even expecting to see some WWE Hall of Famer as the opponent of Seth Rollins at the grandest stage of them all.
Seth Rollins got a special entrance, it was not too special though, just a group doing some chorus works. The opponent finally got revealed, and it was none other than Cody Rhodes. The rumors came out to be true. And what an amazing entrance he had! It was actually a stupendous moment. It had been addressed as the American Nightmare. He got an amazing response as well.
The mystery opponent was the biggest attraction about this match. Most of the fans cared less about the quality of the match. There was a lot of chain wrestling in this match. It began in a little slower pace. But it picked up pace and it turned out to be a great match.
The match was booked for twenty one minutes. What an amazing match it was! This would go on to be one of the best matches in WrestleMania history. Back to back near falls made this match really exciting. Cody pinned Seth with three back to back Cross Rhodes finisher.
