Cody Rhodes is a majorly discussed name around WrestleMania 38 who is apparently coming back to the WWE after his recent AEW departure. At first, his arrival was almost confirmed but in recent times, his name has reportedly been removed from any boards and documentation for the Show of Shows. With less than three weeks available for the grand event, we expect this Monday’s RAW to be a key show to clarify the status of the former Intercontinental Champion.
This week’s Raw is seemingly the last chance for WWE to bring in the American Nightmare before Wrestlemania 38 since the show is taking place from his hometown of Jacksonville, the same city which is also home to AEW tapings.
Wrestlemania 38: Big Match Cancelled Due To Injury On WWE Smackdown?
According to the reports of Wrestling Observer, Cody’s WrestleMania 38 status will be clear after this Monday’s RAW in Jacksonville, Florida,
“If he’s on the show Monday you already know. If he’s not on the show Monday and they don’t do with Seth whatsoever, that means they’re still talking and hopefully doing something.
If they start Rollins on with a new feud with somebody different, that tells you that Cody Rhodes is probably not at WrestleMania or they’re playing hardball back with him.
After Monday’s show, we’re gonna have a better idea.”
Wrestlemania 38 match should be clarified on Raw
In more update, Ringside News asked about Cody’s current status for Monday’s RAW and a tenured member of the creative team told the source that “no one has been talking about it.”
The source was additionally told that “Vince makes decisions on RAW, tells Bruce Prichard and Ed Koskey and John Laurinaitis” while the rest of the team stays in the dark until the show on Mondays irrespective of the fact that it’s Wrestlemania 38.
While Cody’s big return would be nice for the WWE Universe especially it happens in front of the fans in Jacksonville. However, as of this writing, the word is that the much-anticipated WWE return hit some sort of roadblock in the final stages and both the parties have seemingly moved on.
If that’s the case then the Wrestlemania 38 appearance is simply not happening for Cody. Also, the rumored match against Seth Rollins would be off the card and WWE will have to find a new opponent for The Messiah.
