Wrestlemania 38 is getting the biggest match of all time in the history of WWE as two top world champions are colliding in a title vs. title encounter. The stakes have already been made higher than ever as WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Universal Champion Roman Reigns are booked in a championship unification capacity. Thus, the world title belts will be unified at the Show of Shows.

But on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the fallout from the biggest match will be similar to the past occasions where WWE reunited the titles in the past. The company still wants two champions on their programming, one for each brand – Raw and Smackdown after Wrestlemania 38. They will probably figure out something to separate the titles once the show gets over.

Meltzer was told that in the modern wrestling environment, it’s not a good idea for each show not to have a champion, given that they run from separate networks. But the match at Wrestlemania 38 is still planned to be a unification bout as the contract signing had already gone down on SmackDown following Elimination Chamber.

WWE may bring back dual titles after Wrestlemania 38

Per Meltzer’s below dissection, it’s evident that WWE won’t move away from the brand split capacity after Wrestlemania 38 and there will be two top champions on both shows,

“The deal here is that it is a unification match and from what I am told, it’s the same idea as the last time they unified the titles. Remember like 2o years ago, 18 years ago when they did, and then like a week later they just handed a belt to Triple H?

I was told that it is not feasible in the modern environment to not have each brand, given the two networks, have a champion. So this will be a unification match, and then they will, not forget about it, but there will be two champions.”

There was still a chance that the particular Wrestlemania 38 bout could be changed as Brock Lesnar was set to defend his WWE Championship at Madison Square Garden. Paul Heyman promised to find out a prominent opponent for Lesnar and then the winner will be on a collision course to face Roman. However, Lesna bulldozed his way to victory against Austin Theory.

This unification match is planned to be the main event of Wrestlemania 38 Night Two while the Raw Women’s Championship match between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair will take place on Night One alongside the Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Title.
