This is it, the moment we were all been waiting for, Roman Reigns finally defended his WWE Undisputed Universal Heavyweight Championship against The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39. Cody earned the right to face the champion at the grandest stage of them all by winning the men’s Royal Rumble match.
Their had been a lot of speculations going on for this match. Sometimes the rumours suggested that Roman is retaining the title, on the very next moment the rumours say that Cody is finally dethroning Roman Reigns, and on the very next moment you hear the opposite.

WrestleMania 39 – WWE Undisputed Universal Heavyweight Championship – Roman Reigns Vs. Cody Rhodes
It had been the most unpredictable match of the show so far. WWE tried to make this match as much unpredictable as they could. Rumours floated that WWE is going to introduce a new American Nightmare themed World Championship title, Roman Reigns is going to take time off after this match, so on and so forth.
All these rumours led to only one possibility, Roman is going to drop the world title for the first time in nearly three years. But here is where WWE becomes unpredictable, whenever you think that this big match is getting extremely predictable, you definitely get a different and shocking result.

And what happened in this case? Did Roman Reigns actually dropped his Undisputed Universal Heavyweight Championship to Cody Rhodes, or once again managed to keep the Championship among his waist? And how good was it as a match?
WWE wasted a lot of time to fill the gap between the last match and this one. We do not understand why the Intercontinental title was not given a little longer booking time when they had so much idle time to waste. Maybe they planned The Miz vs. Shane McMahon for a longer time, which never happened.
The match had an extremely slow start. But slowly, it picked up pace. This match was way better than Roman’s previous WrestleMania matches. There were near falls, Roman kicked out of all the big moves of Cody, including Cross Rhodes and Pedigree.

After half an hour of the match, the referee was out and The Usos entered the match and started beating down Cody. The new Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens came out who not only took out The Usos but also beat down Roman Reigns.
Once again, Roman managed to kick out on the next pin. Everything indicated towards a possible victory towards a victory of Cody, and that is where managed to full us. Ultimately, it was another “Roman Wins lol” affair. Solo Sikoa once again interfered who helped Roman towards another victory.
