Wrestlemania 39 will go bigger under the bright lights of Hollywood. Apart from the biggest names that the professional wrestling industry has to offer, we can certainly expect some mainstream celebrities to make appearances on the show to make it a grand affair. Obviously, quite a few returns are also expected to happen on that night just like Stone Cold Steve Austin, this year.

That being said, Kurt Angle has been under speculations to make an appearance at Wrestlemania 39 after admitting in recent times that WWE wants him for the event in some capacity. Originally, he retired from in-ring competition at WrestleMania 35 in 2019 after digesting a loss to Baron Corbin. With an illustrious career, Angle needed a more fitting end that could drag him back to the biggest event of the year.

Kurt Angle won’t wrestle a match at Wrestlemania 39

Moving on in the conversation, Angle also mentioned that even if he appears at Wrestlemania 39 then it would likely be happening in a non-wrestling capacity,

“They’re talking about maybe me doing something at WrestleMania. They are always reaching out to me to help do media and stuff like that, kind of be an ambassador for the company.

I like doing that. I don’t mind because I can’t wrestle anymore. It’s just an idea. It won’t be in a wrestling capacity at all. There is nothing there yet.”

Kurt Angle is currently under a WWE Legends contract that kept him away from appearing on AEW TV despite being released from WWE in April 2020 amid COVID-19-related budget cuts. Furthermore, he also doesn’t want to ruin his relationship with the WWE which brings the possibility of appearing at Wrestlemania 39 in the first place.

“I don’t want to do that again, I don’t want to jump ship because WWE has always been good to me,” Angle continued. (quotes courtesy 411Mania)

We’ll have to wait and see whether WWE WrestleMania 39 will have Kurt Angle on the card next year when it takes on April 1 and April 2, 2023, from the SoFi Stadium, in Inglewood, Los Angeles, California. At present, Roman Reigns vs. The Rock is rumored to be the main event of the night.
