Even after more than a year of winning the championship, Rhea Ripley’s dominating title reign continues following last night’s Wrestlemania 40. The Night One of the WWE premium live event saw her putting the Women’s World Championship on the line against one of the most veteran talents of the Raw roster, Becky Lynch but she eventually toppled the hurdle.

The fantastic back-and-forth battle at Wrestlemania 40 saw Lynch hitting a superplex and transitioning into a Disarmer. Ripley hoisted her up into an electric chair drop position. Lynch tried to fight out but Ripley held on and hit the electric chair drop on the outside.

Ripley followed up with a frog splash for two as Lynch went for a Man-handle slam off the middle rope. Ripley blocked it and gave Lynch a Riptide into the turnbuckle pad before hitting the second Riptide in the ring for the pinfall win and retain her title at Wrestlemania 40.

Following the win, Ripley attended the post-Wrestlemania 40 Night One press conference and declared her excitement about picking up the win against Big Time Becks. She further expressed gratitude for claiming this special win at the biggest WWE PLE of all time,

“It feels bloody fantastic to say the least. Look, I went out there with one of the best in this federation, Becky Lynch. And to be able to step toe-to-toe with her and bring the fight to her, it meant the absolute world to me. And to be able to have it at the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania XL, the largest WrestleMania there is, it’s very, very special.” (quotes courtesy Sescoops)

Wrestlemania 40: Judgment Day didn’t do well except for Rhea Ripley

While Ripley clinched another top-notch win against Becky Lynch, the other Judgment Day members did not fare so well at Wrestlemania 40. In the six-pack tag-team ladder match, Finn Balor and Damian Priest lost both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships to the Awesome Truth and A-Town Down Under, respectively.

The previous undisputed tag team titles were split during the ladder match at Wrestlemania 40. JD McDonagh tried to aid his allies but the titles changed hands after all. Later in the show, another Judgment Day member Dominik Mysterio teamed with Santos Escobar in a losing effort to Rey Mysterio and Andrade.
