Charlotte Flair was supposed to feature prominently on WWE television even after Wrestlemania Backlash 2022. In fact, WWE has a storyline planned for her against Lacey Evans to re-launch the career of the returnee. However, that was put to a halt with the news that Flair was injured during the bygone premium live event. As per consequence, Evans was also traded to Raw in a silent way.
Now, WWE has also officially confirmed an upcoming hiatus for the top superstar. During the latest episode of WWE’s The Bump, the company announced that Charlotte Flair will be, “out of action indefinitely,” after suffering an arm injury against Ronda Rousey at WWE WrestleMania Backlash.

It was noted that Charlotte Flair had suffered the injury during her I Quit match against Ronda where she also lost her Smackdown Women’s Title to the UFC Hall of Famer. The Bump host Kayla Braxton has then revealed that the former champion is going to be out indefinitely.
“We do have some breaking news here on The Bump, it’s an update on the condition of Charlotte Flair,” Braxton said. “Obviously, on Sunday night after Charlotte lost her SmackDown Women’s Championship to Ronda Rousey, I did report that she was suffering a fracture of the radius. However, we do have more breaking news right now.
“I, unfortunately, have to report that due to the injury suffered at the hands of Ronda Rousey in that match, we have learned that Charlotte Flair will be out of action indefinitely. This is just a huge blow to the former champion who put up one hell of a fight. Probably one of the most all-time great I Quit matches in WWE history.”

Charlotte Flair has a solid reason to go into a hiatus
Soon after the injury news was broken by WWE following Wrestlemania Backlash, Fightful Select reported that the injury was kayfabe and it was just a way to write Charlotte Flair off the television.
“WWE creative was told Charlotte would be taking a little time off, and a kayfabe injury angle was set up for WrestleMania Backlash. On the show, it was said that she suffered a fracture of the radius, which is completely storyline.”
In an additional update to the situation, on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer also discussed the reason for the storyline injury. It appears that Charlotte Flair will be taking time off to marry her fiancée, Andrade El Idolo. The two were engaged in early 2020 while Flair admitted that they plan on getting married, this summer. However, the exact wedding date is unknown.
