WWE is finally back in Saudi Arabia with the Crown Jewel event after two years. Some of the action packed matches have been booked for the show. A lot of titles were on the line. Some great matches have been booked for this show, some intense rivalries ended and some started. Let us go through everything that occurred in the event.

Match 1 – Hell in a Cell Match – Edge defeated Seth Rollins

WWE Crown Jewel 2021 Results & Ratings

This was the feud ending match of this rivalry and indeed it had been one of the best feuds of WWE of this year. Without any doubt it was the best non title of the year in WWE. Indeed it was an excellent match. Two of the best performers in sports entertainment today was locked inside Hell in a Cell for their last battle. What do you expect? But we believe Seth Rollins needed this win more that Edge. No doubt it was one of the best matches of the night.

Match 2 – Mansoor defeated Mustafa Ali

The match was given a bit too much time. It was a good match but the duo failed to utilize the whole time. But it was booked for the home crowd as the local hero was featured. The match was mostly dominated by Mansoor and he pinned Ali with a Top Rope Neck Breaker. After the match, Ali beat down Mansoor and Saudi Arabian Karate star Tarek Hamedi came out and nailed Ali with a Karate Kid. Not sure if it was a WWE debut or one time appearance.

Match 3 – WWE RAW Tag Team Championship – WWE RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro defeated AJ Styles and Omos

This match was bad. It was mostly a two on one handicap match. Just like every single tag team match including AJ Styles and Omos. There was nothing special about this match, absolutely nothing. This tag team needs to end now, it has absolutely new to offer. RK-Bro literally dominated AJ Styles and Riddle pinned AJ for the victory.

Match 4 – Queen’s Crown Tournament – Zelina Vega defeated Doudrop to win the Queen’s Crown tournament

Imagine this could have been a match between Shayna Baszler and Toni Storm. But we get it, they have decided to push Zelina Vega and that is totally understandable. But Niven needed this win more, of course. It was a clean win for Zelina, which might be a little surprising. And Niven did not dominate the match either. We hope they don’t send Zelina to jobbing land after this match.

Match  5 – No Holds Barred Match – Goldberg defeated Bobby Lashley

Okay so Bobby Lashley is officially buried. The match was surprisingly quite good. Goldberg did really well. His effort was praiseworthy. But the way Lashley lost, he is buried. After this defeat, there cannot be any future for Lashley in WWE. Goldberg completely dominated Lashley and beat the hell out of him. At the end, Goldberg pinned Lashley after hitting a spear through three tables.

Match 6 – King of the Ring Tournament Final – Xavier Woods defeated Finn Balor to become King of the Ring 2021

It was a very good match. But it was predictable. The outcome was almost spoiled a month ago when Xavier Woods was the only person to talk about the tournament on media. And he was talking too much about it. WWE stars should not be talking too much about such matches since they mostly give spoilers. It was a clean win. He defeated Balor with a Super Elbow drop.

Match 7 – WWE Championship – WWE Champion Big E defeated Drew McIntyre to retain

It was indeed one of the best matches of the night. Both performers were simply amazing. But there was nothing surprising about it since Drew would be moving to Smackdown after this match. So everybody knew Big E would be winning it. The match was of course amazing. It required two Big Endings for Big E to pin Drew McIntyre.

Match 8 – WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship – WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defeated Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair

It was an excellent match. All three women were really very good. The match was not dominated by any particular individual, however, Bianca was shown as the strongest force among the three since she was the only babyface. At the end of the match, Becky Lynch pinned Sasha Banks with a roll up to win. It was not a clean victory as Becky decided to hold the ring rope while pinning Sasha.

Match 9 – WWE Universal Championship – WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar to retain

The match that should have been the best match of the night arguably turned out to be the worst. The ending was so badly booked that a botched finish is more fun to watch that this. Roman was presented as the stronger force of the match. The Usos interfered when referee was out and nailed Brock with a Super Kick. Roman hit Brock with the title and pinned him. Surely, it is not the end of the feud but it could have been booked better.

Overall, it was a good event. There are really good matches like the triple threat Smackdown Women’s Championship match and the WWE Championship match, but there are really bad bookings such as the main event and the RAW tag title match. But we must say, the whole event was quite better than the recent pay per view events of WWE. We give it 3 stars out of 5.
