WWE Crown Jewel 2022 will be the fourth event under the chronology, later this year starting from 2018. As confirmed by the WWE, this upcoming event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will be the second PLE from Saudi Arabia for this year. This will happen with the company’s ten-year partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s sports authorities.
Crown Jewel 2022 is going to be another Stadiums Show in the WWE calendar following Summerslam and Clash at the Castle while October’s Extreme Rules is considered to be a filler event. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is not advertised to appear on the show and hence he won’t be making his next title defense at the coming PLE, either.

That being said, the speculation is that Roman Reigns will put his titles on the line at Crown Jewel 2022, next. That being said, there have been speculations about who could possibly go after the Tribal Chief, next. There are quite a few options but nothing is set in stone, at this point.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross are still in the conversation of being the next challengers for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. Top Raw Superstars excluded from Crown Jewel 2022 title picture?
Even Seth Rollins or Kevin Owens is also in conversation given how these two still have unfinished business with Roman Reigns. But they’re not going to challenge Reigns for the titles at Crown Jewel 2022,
”I was told it’s not Seth Rollins or Kevin Owens, even though both have teased it, and based on build one would expect those two matches at some point. So that would seem to favor either McIntyre or Karrion Kross, unless they’ve got somebody from the past but at this point they’ve done Goldberg and done Lesnar to death.’’
With Roman Reigns not returning to TV until Crown Jewel 2022 storylines pick up, a non-title feud between Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross will act as the headliner for Extreme Rules 2022. According to Xero News, WWE already has the match scheduled for the upcoming PPV event which would be confirmed in the near future.
