Undoubtedly, this year’s Superstar Shakeup has turned out to be in favor of the Smackdown Live brand.

Unlike the flagship show who has been able to retain their core names, the blue brand brought some fresh names. They hired some of the guys from Monday Night Raw as well as from the NXT roster – to make thing interesting.

Also, the fact that Paige has become the new general manager will help them in a big way.

From the get-go, she teased some big things for the show which has now become ‘her house’. Keeping names like AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura under one roof is certainly going to produce some dream matches.

Last night, one of those was teased when Samoa Joe confronted AJ Styles.

Interestingly, this was the very first time that these two names had a face-off against each other ever since coming to the WWE.

Until now, these two were kept apart. While Joe was busy on his NXT stint and then on WWE Raw, Styles kept building Smackdown Live as his show.

‘The face that runs the place’ was introduced in Montreal to cut a promo on his upcoming match at Backlash. But, in the middle of that, Samoa Joe walked to interrupt him.

The crowd went nuts and started chanting ‘TNA’, right away. These two used to be the marquee names for WWE’s rival brand, for years.

So, we expect them to deliver big-time on Smackdown, too.

Joe gave a threat to the reigning champ that he will put Roman Reigns to sleep on this Sunday night.

When Reigns is done doing that, he will come after the WWE Championship. He will beat the phenomenal one for the title. Needless to say, the audience loved this tease.

The moment was ruined by Shinsuke Nakamura whose music started to play. He came down into the ring from behind and hit with a low blow to the WWE Champion.

Thereafter, the segment ended with a Kinshasa putting Styles down.

For now, Styles vs. Nakamura is booked for the Backlash PPV.

The expectation is this that the latter one will finally win the prime title on Smackdown at the upcoming event.

Afterward, we will get to see the dream feud between Joe and Styles.
