The infamous steel cage structure known as the Elimination Chamber is returning to the WWE schedule, next month. Reports suggest that for the first time ever the gimmick-based PPV will take place in Saudi Arabia instead of being an event in the United States.

According to Fightful Select, the current plans from WWE are to bring back the Elimination Chamber structure for their next show in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Saturday, February 19. This will be the first time that a Saudi show will take place in a weekend PPV slot.

There is no word yet on what the name of the event will be but going by the recent occasions WWE could simply use the structure’s name as the PPV name. Reports from Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men, too, WWE is planning to return to Saudi Arabia on February 19th but they have insisted the PPV name would be Super ShowDown 2022.

“As of now, the working plan is for the Elimination Chamber match and structure to take place at the February Saudi Arabia show.

We’re unsure of the Premium Live Event name will follow that, or if they’ll opt for something different. Some staff that is working with WWE in the area have also been briefed of these plans,” Fightful noted.

Saudi Arabia to host Elimination Chamber matches

WWE’s last outing to Saudi Arabia was on October 21, 2021, as they hosted Crown Jewel PPV, where the top matches on the card were Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, Goldberg vs. Bobby Lashley, and Edge vs. Seth Rollins inside the Hell in a Cell structure. The Crown Jewel 2021 is also considered to be WWE’s best Saudi Arabia PPV to date.

Originally, Super ShowDown PPV was supposed to take place, next month since it was hosted in 2020 February, where The Undertaker, Goldberg, and Brock Lesnar featured in top matches. But it seems like WWE would continue with the Elimination Chamber, instead.
