One of the best pay per view events it was in the history of the PG era. Most of the predictions went true but unfortunately, what everybody expected to see, there were no Brock Lesnar in this event. Bad News Barrett was seen after every game, he seemed more like the host of the show. Let us go through all the matches in details.
Kick Off – Cody Rhodes and Goldust defeated Ryback and Curtis Axel – The match has been pretty good but now, it does not seem to be Ryback is going to get any major match at WrestleMania XXX because if they do, it would be really awful because Ryback looked really a mediocre wrestler in this match. Cody Rhodes picked up the victory over Curtis Axel to earn the win for his team.
Match 1 – WWE Intercontinental champion Big E defeated Jack Swagger to retain – It has been a good long match but it turned a little bit boring in some occasions. Still, I would say it was a great way to start things off. Both performers were good in the match, I would say Big E looked more improved during this match. He perform an Enzugiri, attempted a high flying maneuver from the turnbuckle. Jack Swagger also great, he was given an old professional wrestling trick in this match where one tries to damage other’s shoulder or knee. Swagger kept attacking on Big E’s knee which could help him to win with his Patriot Lock finishing maneuver. But But Big E countered the last one with an Enzugiri and pinned the challenger with the Big Ending to retain the Intercontinental championship.
Match 2 – WWE Tag Team champions New Age Outlaws defeated The Usos to retain – I would not say it was a great match but it was not bad either. The Usos no doubt performed better than the Outlaws. The champions were good as well. Without some high flying matches, a pay per view looks really lame. And when you have Usos in the match card, you should be relaxed that you will surely get what you want. So what is the tag team planning for WrestleMania? I think a ladder match should be arranged for the tag team championship featuring fou tag teams. Let us see what actually happens.
Match 3 – Titus O’Neil defeated Darren Young – It was a good match, and honestly, it was better than I expected. Both individuals were pretty cool in this match. And it was really a good fit for any pay per view event. Titus O’ Neil pinned his former tag team partner Darren Young with a Spine Buster.
Match 4 – The Wyatt Family defeated The Shield – Expectations were really high from this match since it was one of the most anticipated match of the night, and man, it was one heck of a match. WHAT A MATCH! Just amazing! Those who spent money for the pay per view event, this match really returned them the favor. All the superstars who were involved in this six man tag team match proved their worth, they proved that the push they are having they are seriously worth it. Bray Wyatt picked the victory over Roman Reigns with his finishing maneuver Sister Abigail.
Match 5 – Cameron defeated WWE Divas champions AJ Lee by disqualification, AJ Lee retains the title – The match was not previously listed, it was later added in the card during the event. Yes, just like every pay per view event, a surprise match was added to this event too. It might not be the best surprise match to be added though. I do not know if there was a necessity to let this go to disqualification since the opponent was Cameron. But since Tamina Snuka was responsible for this result of disqualification, I believe this match was used to build up AJ Lee vs. Tamina Snuka at the grandest stage of them all. There might not be any rumor surrounding this match to take place, but I have predicted this in some of my previous articles, and now it looks like my prediction is coming true.
Match 6 – Batista defeated Alberto Del Rio – I had a feeling that Alberto Del Rio would perform better than Batista in this match, and trust me, I was right. The result of the match was a bit predictable though, maybe the most predictable match of the night. It seems really funny whenever you see the heel wrestler got cheered and the babyface gets booed by the audience (I still do not understand why WWE keeping Batista for the main event of WrestleMania). Batista kept real dominance in the match, yeah, once again they tried to prove the Animal as the most dominant force in WWE. It worked on paper, but I can’t say if the fans are satisfied with Batista. Alberto got pinned by the Batista Bomb.
Main event – WWE World Heavyweight champion Randy Orton defeated Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Antonio Cesaro, Christian and Sheamus to retain (Order of entrances – John Cena entered first, then followed by Christian in the second number, the WWE World Heavyweight champion Randy Orton entered third, then came the fan favorite Daniel Bryan on fourth, on fifth came Antonio Cesaro, and finally Sheamus entered sixth) – It turned out to be one of the best Elimination Chamber matches in the history of WWE. In my opinion, Anotnio Cesaro was the best performer of the match, yeah, I know it is surprising when there were superstars like John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, Christian and Sheamus were also involved. The best thing about the match was, nobody got eliminated fron the match till the last man entered the match. Here is the details of the match;
Antonio Cesaro and Sheamus started things off, the five minute fight that took place between these two individuals was really very good. Both superstars performed good where no one kept dominance. Daniel Bryan was the third superstar to join the match and as soon as he entered the match, the fans broke into the ‘Yes!’ chants. After he entered the ring, he kept a good dominance over the two for a couple of minutes as well. Christian entered fourth in the match. Christian straightly went against Daniel Bryan and kept hitting on his injured arm. John Cena entered as the fifth superstar of the match who started with an Attitude Adjustment on Christian over Antonio Cesaro. Sheamus was the first superstar to get eliminated by Christian who pinned him with a super frog splash. Sheamus might have been the first superstar to get eliminated but he was one of the best performer in the match as well. Christian got eliminated really soon after Sheamus’ elimination who got eliminated by Daniel Bryan. Antonio Cesaro got eliminated next as Cena made him submit with STF (it does not seem justified as the best performer of the game got eliminated by Submission). The Wyatt Family interfered who turned out to be responsible for Cena’s elimination next. Cena got beat down badly by the Wyatts as Orton pinned Cena. The Director of Operations Kane came out next and ordered The Wyatts to leave. And as predicted Kane hit Bryan from outside and Orton took the advantage of the situation with an RKO.
