ToggleWWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently looked back at the death of WCW and how a lot of WCW star transitioned to WWE after Vince McMahon purchased WCW. He remembered the Vigilante Sting did not accept to join WWE after the infamous takeover.
WCW was one of the major promotions in the world of professional wrestling throughout the 90s. It produced some of the biggest stars like Goldberg and Steve Borden who is mostly known as Sting. It went to a head to head rivalry with WWE during the 90s and it is famously known as the Monday Night Wars.

However, by 2001 WCW was dying. Vince McMahon, who is the owner of WWE stepped up and bought its own competition. Most of the big WCW stars transitioned to WWE after this shocking take over, including some of the biggest names like Diamond Dallas Page and Booker T.
But one of the biggest stars of the promotion Steve Borden Sting did not join WWE. It was the big disappointment for the WWE fans as they could not get to see the Vigilante work in WWE for the first time. Eric Bischoff on his 83 Weeks podcast discussed this matter and said that he was not surprised that the Vigilante did not join WWE during the time,

“But I wasn’t surprised because — I don’t want to speak for him — but because Sting was so guarded, I don’t want to say he didn’t trust people, but I don’t think he had a lot of confidence in how he would be used or utilized in WWE.
“Look, he had a couple conversations over the years with WWE, but he never pulled the trigger. I think it was because he just couldn’t get himself to trust the process, I guess, in WWE. He just didn’t feel comfortable, so it didn’t surprise me.” Concluded the WWE Hall of Famer.

Steve Borden finally arrived in WWE after 13 long years at Survivor Series pay per view event of WWE of 2014. He even had a high voltage match against Triple H at WrestleMania 31. But his WWE career was not as fruitful as everybody thought it could be. He is currently active in AEW and he is going pretty strong.
