In the main event of WWE Hell In A Cell 2022, Cody Rhodes defeated Seth Rollins inside the Hell in a Cell structure. This match served as the main event of the night where Rhodes performed with an injury but yet managed to pick up a win, showing valiant efforts.
The assumption is that Rhodes vs. Rollins feud is over now, with Rhodes gaining a clean sweep by 3-0 in three straight PLE matches. But there are some concerns over Rhodes’ injury following Hell in a Cell 2022.
As per WWE’s official statement, Rhodes suffered a partially torn right pectoral tendon during a brawl with Seth Rollins this past Monday on WWE Raw. The tendon tore completely off the bone during weight training on Friday as he was preparing for his match for Hell in a Cell 2022.
There was a rumor that Smackdown superstar Drew McIntyre was going to replace Rhodes in the scheduled match but that wasn’t the case. The prodigal son did end up competing with a torn pec and earned major praise from the fans and critics.

According to a backstage update from this morning’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Rhodes indeed injured himself while weight training. The injury is thought to be a torn pec.
“Cody hurt himself weight training this week. The story going around backstage last night in Champaign, Illinois is that he tore his pec. I don’t know that 100 percent [if] that is the injury. That’s definitely the story going around. That’s what multiple wrestlers were saying last night, and Cody was there, so he probably told them,” Meltzer said.
Cody Rhodes set for post Hell in a Cell 2022 Raw appearance
While nothing was noted by the source regarding the healing time for the top Raw Superstar, we are likely to learn more updates on the injury on this week’s Raw. After Hell in a Cell 2022 went off the air, Rhodes took the mic and announced that he will discuss his injury more on tonight’s Raw.
Rhodes also said that he wanted everyone to know that no one convinced him to come out to perform at Hell in a Cell 2022 and that it was his decision, only,
“I’m sure I’m gonna explain things a little further tomorrow, I’ll be very brief. No one convinced me, with a torn pec, to come out here. It was solely my decision. You would have to literally kill me from staying away from this ring. Ten times out of ten, I would have made the same decision.”
