CM Punk fans must be happy the way things are going on. He might be a few steps away from making the much-anticipated return on WWE TV, as of now. We have previously reported that he is trying to rope in a new role of co-hosting a studio show on FOX. Renee Young is going to be the main host of the show here with names like Punk appearing in a guest role. But this appearance could eventually bring him back to the main WWE TV shows.

While appearing in a promotion spree on Collider Live, CM Punk talked about his new film “Girl On The Third Floor”. The media wanted to know whether it’s true that he gave auditions for the co-host role on WWE Backstage talk-show. He gave an affirmative answer to that and pretty much hinted that FOX will select him for the role. After this, he will regularly appear to discuss WWE programming on FOX, later this year.

CM Punk also addressed the burning rumors of WWE return saying that he is pretty much open to anything except for ‘wrestling’. Here’s what he stated confirming ‘he’s open to anything’,

“Yeah I did it. I’m very much in a position where, ‘Well come talk to me.’ “I’m open to anything. If they come to me with, ‘Hey we want you to wrestle,’ I’ll say, ‘um, I’m not interested’.” (via ringsidenews.com)

So the situation is going to be pretty interesting where the former WWE Champions will talk about pro-wrestling regularly. But he will not be making any appearance in a wrestling capacity. Only time will tell whether his itch to lace up the boots might become bigger. But for that, WWE has to come up with a positive approach, first.

WWE EVP Triple H recently appeared on the Sports Illustrated Podcast to note on this topic. While speaking about CM Punk possibly returning to WWE via a talk-show, he stated that WWE is willing to move towards the future leaving the past behind. So you never know when a bright situation would occur, (courtesy cagesideseats.com)

“As far as for us, one of the things I think this company has shown over and over again, is never say never. If the opportunity is right for everybody and it’s right for our fans, then we are willing to put the past behind us and move forward.” Triple H said, “So, I would say, never say never, but that’s also probably a long way from coming to. I don’t know. That’s also a little bit outside of my purview at the moment, but like I said, never say never.”
