John Cena is in no mood to come back to the WWE, anytime soon as he continues to secure more Hollywood flicks. In recent times, he has supposedly built a good rapport with James Gunn as they’re now working on a project. The 16-time World Champion will be seen working on a Peacemaker spin-off before Suicide Squad 2 drops.

According to the information provided by The Hollywood Reporter, James Gunn and John Cena are collaborating on a spin-off series for the Peacemaker character. His appearance has just recently been confirmed along with the design of his costume. Previously, Cena starrer The Transformer spin-off series BumbleBee was a major success.

Gunn and Peter Safran who were producers for The Conjuring horror franchise as well as the DC movie Aquaman will serve as exec producers for this venture. Television.

The series will be focused on exploring the origins of the Peacemaker character. The production around this John Cena-starrer is likely to go down in early 2021 before James Gunn gets involved with the next Guardians Of The Galaxy movie. Suicide Squad 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on August 6th, 2021 if the coronavirus pandemic doesn’t remain a bar.

John Cena was last seen in the WWE during the WrestleMania 36 cinematic match against The Fiend Bray Wyatt. It was less of a wrestling match but rather a re-visit to the history books of WWE. It was a fair way to protect Cena from getting involved in a physical capacity as much as possible while also attract the fans to the bout. He’s not coming back to WWE, at least until the next time around.
