The event witnessed the former franchise player of the WWE return after the main event match, which ended with WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns retaining his belt over WWE Hall of Famer Edge via interferences from Seth Rollins.

The massive Money In The Bank 2021 main event saw Edge and Reigns deliver a back-and-forth bout. The Referee of the match Charles Robinson was taken down, at one point when the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Usos tried to interfere in favor of Roman Reigns. But they were attacked and chased away by the former champions, The Mysterios.

After the match was over, Rollins hit the ring and snapped on Edge, taking him out up before having a face-off with Reigns. Rollins claimed that he’s the reason why Edge isn’t the champion and he was also the one who should’ve faced Reigns at Money in the Bank 2021, not Edge. The Rated-R Superstar then attacked and tumbled to the floor as the brawl continued through the crowd. Rollins retreated to the back.
