Liv Morgan has not only become Ms. Money In The Bank at Money in the Bank 2022 PLE but also the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. After winning the contract in the opening match of the latest bygone event, she successfully cashed in the contract on the reigning champion Ronda Rousey to become the new title-holder of the blue brand.
As noted, during the opening match of Money In The Bank 2022 premium live event, Morgan defeated Becky Lynch, Asuka, Raquel Rodriguez, Alexa Bliss, Shotzi, and Lacey Evans to win the 2022 Women’s MITB ladder match.
Morgan and Lynch were the last pair remaining on the ladders to have a race to reach the briefcase hanging high above the ring. At one point, Lynch seemingly knocked Morgan down to the mat but the latter Morgan balanced herself back to the ladder before sending down Lynch and retrieving the briefcase to win the Money in the Bank 2022 ladder match.

Later the night, Ronda Rousey defeated Natalya via submission to retain her SmackDown Women’s Title. The champion was exhausted and hurt her legs after getting trapped in the Sharpshooter submission by Natalya. This is when Morgan’s music played and she ran down the ring to cash in the Money in the Bank 2022 contract.
Therefore, a new Smackdown Women’s Championship started right away. Rousey applied the ankle lock submission on Morgan but Morgan kicked at Rousey’s injured leg to break the hold. She rolled up Rousey for the pinfall win and become a champion for the first time in her WWE career at Money in the Bank 2022. Before dropping the SmackDown Women’s Title, Rousey had held the title since defeating Charlotte Flair in an I Quit Match at WrestleMania Backlash.

Morgan qualified for the Money in the Bank 2022 ladder match on the June 13 episode of WWE RAaw when she and Alexa Bliss defeated Doudrop and last year’s winner, Nikki A.S.H. in a tag team match.
Now she has joined the likes of Carmella, Alexa Bliss, Bayley, and Nikki A.S.H. who have successfully cashed in their MITB contracts to go on to become a champion. Morgan is also the third female MITB match-winner who cashed in the same day of the contract winning.
