For the first time in WWE history, Money in the Bank will be hosted from an outdoor venue, later this year. Apparently, WWE is willing to make this annual tradition their fifth biggest premium live event after the Big-Four PPV events namely Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble. Hence, the planning could call for a huge change in the format as the stakes could be bigger for the winners.
During this Sunday’s WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Premium Live Event, a promo aired for this year’s Money in the Bank where top WWE Raw Superstar Cody Rhodes hyped things up for the show slated to happen at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the aired commercial, Rhodes hinted that the 2022 Money in the Bank winners could challenge the main champions at next year’s WrestleMania 39.
“One lucky male and female Superstar will win the chance to main event WrestleMania,” Rhodes said in the promo.

Money in the Bank 2022 winning stipulations could be different
Cody Rhodes can be heard speaking about the MITB winners possibly going to the main event of WrestleMania, starting at the 0:54 mark in the video. It’s not clear whether WWE indeed plans to add similar stakes for the winners or it was just a mistake from WWE and Cody’s part via that scripted promo.
Traditionally, the winners of the men’s and women’s division Money in the Bank ladder matches earn a contract for a championship match of their choice that they can cash-in at any place or time of their choosing for a time span of 365 days. At WrestleMania 31, Seth Rollins became the first Superstar in history to cash in his briefcase at the Show of Shows and thereby be a part of the main event match.
In general, winners of the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches get the opportunity to feature in the main event of Wrestlemania but it’s not sure whether the same opportunities will be waiting for MITB winners, as well.
WWE Money in the Bank 2022 is going to be the third Premium Live Event following WrestleMania 38 which takes place on July 2nd. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey, Bobby Lashley, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Drew McIntyre, and Bobby Lashley are currently being advertised to appear on the show.
