A special WWE MSG 2022 event has been officially announced for this summer and a Smackdown superstar could be the headliner. The current number-one contender for Smackdown Women’s Title, Ronda Rousey is set to return to Madison Square Garden in New York City for a live WWE RAW TV taping announced, yesterday night.
In their Events section, WWE announced more than 30 new dates for their summer 2022 tour on Friday morning. This includes live RAW and SmackDown TV tapings along with non-televised live events under the Saturday Night’s Main Event and Sunday Stunner banners. It was also announced that the July 25 RAW will be a WWE MSG 2022 special from The World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden.

That being said, WWE will have to bring all their star power together to sell out that night. The host venue has announced that the Ticketmaster pre-sale will begin next Wednesday, May 11 at 10 am ET with the SOCIAL passcode. Tickets will then go on sale for WWE MSG 2022 for the public on Friday, May 13 at 10 am ET.

It should also be noted that the July 25 RAW WWE MSG 2022 Specials will be the red brand go-home show for SummerSlam 2022, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 30 from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Prior to this, Raw had a broadcast from the famous venue back in 2019 September with Stone Cold Steve Austin on the card.
The interesting thing about the current advertisement is that WWE MSG 2022 will have SmackDown Superstar Rousey for the live RAW taping. As released in a tweet by the venue, RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, and Cody Rhodes are also advertised.
At this point, Ronda Rousey is scheduled to challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in the “I Quit!” match at this Sunday’s WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Premium Live Event. She has not wrestled a match on RAW since April 2019 while she only has been on RAW for a one-off appearance, the day after winning the 2022 Royal Rumble match, earlier this year. With the brand split intact, the top superstars could be presented in a dark segment, after all.
