John Morrison used to be an exciting name on the WWE roster back in his heyday. He was quite a popular name on the roster who had one last appearance in this big-league back in 2011. His contract expired and he chose to leave this brand to enjoy stints around the independent scene on different names and thereby extend his successful wrestling stint.

Currently known as Johnny Impact i.e. John Randall Hennigan (real-name) is looking forward to his future now that he is a free agent in the pro-wrestling circuit. This brings us to the speculation where the high-flyer may decide to show up in the WWE, once again. But there are a lot of ifs and buts that could prevent him from coming back.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter discussed the potential future of John Morrison now that he is no more an Impact Wrestling Superstar. As per the source, the contract has come to an end much prior to the Slammiversary PPV hosted by the company. But he wanted to have a farewell match and thereby delivered the final contest in the form of an incredible X-Division Championship match against Rich Swann.

Considering that WWE is looking forward to signing more talents to keep them safe from the grabs of AEW, John Morrison seems a sure-shot name back on board. However, he wants to become an actor which could keep him away from the wrestling ring. WWE would not allow him either to work in a flexible stint keeping his movie-nag in mind. Here’s more from Meltzer’s analysis,
“This is Johnny Impact’s probable last match with the company. His future is not as known. He can go anywhere he wants, but the thing with him, and I know, is that he wants to be an actor. I know, like a couple of months ago, he and I talked about what’s going to happen when his contract’s up and what’s he going to do, and at this point, AEW wasn’t a thing. So that’s how it was months ago. So it’s pretty much WWE. He was there. He can go back if he makes a call but the thing was that he wants to be an actor and he doesn’t want to be one of these guys where a part comes that will help his acting career and WWE nixes it because they got him under contract.”
We should mention that John Morrison is one of those guys who are not really behind money. Rather he chooses his own preference when it comes to his career. This is why he had thrown away WWE deals in the past and continue working for Lucha Underground or Impact Wrestling. If he is having the same mindset at this point of his career then WWE is not going to be a good option, though.
