WWE has started to build a special connection with cricket since 2017. At first, the company gifted a WWE title to Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma in 2017 when they won the IPL trophy for the third time.

Talking of the final of World Cup 2019, the 100-over match ended in a tie as both the teams ended on a similar score of 241. A super over was conducted to judge a winner and it also ended in a tie with both the teams scoring 15.
England were adjudged as the ultimate champions of the tournament for scoring more boundaries than the Kiwis.

During the match, few umpiring decisions drew flak. England were wrongly rewarded six runs in the 50th over after an overthrow deflected off Ben Stokes’ bat. They should have been rewarded five runs, and not six. Earlier in the match, umpires made few glaring errors.
Ironically Ben Stokes, star of England’s title win, has also been nominated for New Zealander of the year award for his heroics in the final. The 28-year-old all-rounder was born in New Zealand and shifted to the UK at the age of 12.
