We could have barely thought in early 2019 that Dean Ambrose would be leaving WWE. The year began with the 32nd annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view event that was a success. But the news of the former WWE Champion leaving WWE overshadowed everything else from the past week. It is hard to believe that one of the cornerstone superstars of WWE Raw is indeed leaving the brand in months to follow.

Will Renee Young leave WWE?

What came as more surprising was the fact that WWE accepted the news with an official update. They released a statement on their website to confirm that Dean Ambrose is set to exit WWE. He is not intending to stay with the company by extending his deals. So once Wrestlemania 35 is over, his days as a WWE superstar will also come to an end.

Here comes the interesting question as to why WWE would let us know such insider scoops, officially. It has never happened until the very end of a superstar’s contract. In this case, WWE let us knew months earlier to the actual departure. Wade Kelley of PWTorch has given an update on the potential reason behind this.

He reported that WWE has to answer to the media and investors whenever a top talent is not happy. The rumors can really get into the backups of the company when it comes to a name like Dean Ambrose. He’s been a consistent feature on WWE programming over the past five years. He has been a former undisputed WWE Champion and a marquee superstar of the flagship show.

This is why WWE published a short report and declared that the top name was not willing to re-sign. Here’s more from the source,

“I mean can they ignore it? I’m sure there’s an internal discussion. It doesn’t come up much that a story of that magnitude gets out there without their controlling it. So maybe putting the statement out was just a way to grab the reins and say, ‘Alright we’re a little in control of this because we’re going to own what the truth is.”

Rumors have already spread worldwide speculating what could be the next stop for Dean Ambrose. There will be a ton of options available for such a renowned wrestler like him. Chances are very high that AEW might be willing to take him under their banner. This would be their biggest pick into the roster.
