WWE News: The Shield Says Goodbye To Dean Ambrose After WWE Raw
Last night’s WWE Raw was emotional by all means for The Shield fans. It was indeed the last time that we have seen the trio together standing in a ring. As reported earlier, Dean Ambrose was leaving the WWE following Wrestlemania 35. So last night marked the final appearance of the former WWE Champion on WWE TV. He received yet another beatdown on his final night. But the show ended addressing his departure creating an emotional scene.
Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins after this week’s post-WrestleMania 35 edition of WWE Raw. It happened at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn where they debuted in a match back in 2013. So it brought out a lot of memories for the destructive faction in WWE’s history. The crowd chanted for him and started a “#ThankYouAmbrose” trend on Twitter once the segment happened on WWE Raw.
Here’s more what Dean Ambrose had to say during his final speech, (via wrestlingINC.com)
“Ambrose said that the best thing he’s ever seen in WWE was Rollins stomping Lesnar’s “dumb, lunchbox head into the ground and take the title back for the boys.” Ambrose then praised Reigns for beating “the s–t” out of cancer. Ambrose added that they debuted at the arena and Arn Anderson called them “two indie schmucks and a football player.” Ambrose said that a building is just a building, it’s the people who fill it that matter. Ambrose then took a few bows for his farewell.”
The Shield finished the segment with their signature fist bump and the iconic music playing in the background. Dean Ambrose took a bow in front of the WWE Universe to bid goodbye to them before leaving the ring. Thankfully, WWE published the entire video of the segment as we have attached it above.
Prior to this emotional segment, Dean Ambrose had a brawl with Bobby Lashley on WWE Raw. We saw the advertisements on the show that WWE promoted as the final match of the Lunatic Fringe. But it never took place due to Lashley going bad mouth about Ambrose’s personal life. He tried to beat up the Almighty but fell short to the number games via Lio Rush’s distraction. Ultimately Lashley stood tall after planting Dean Ambrose through the announce table.
