This is why the speculation is that The Rock will appear on Smackdown, next week which will also mark the 20th anniversary of the show. For weeks now, the speculations are running rampant about the much-anticipated return of The Great One on WWE TV. Although busy with his movie schedule, chances are high that he might find a gap to appear on Smackdown 20th anniversary.

AdAge revealed that some of the special appearances are “being kept under wraps” for next Friday night. So there are chances that The Rock may appear to promote his Jungle Cruise movie, which Disney will release on July 24, 2020. It is just speculation at this point since no other hint is available within the WWE about the former franchise’s return. However, FOX is promoting him heavily on the promotional materials since the beginning.

Also, WWE made his work easier by hosting the show in Hollywood. The debut show on Fox takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California just to ensure that they could bring as much mainstream names possible on the show. The billing of the 20th anniversary is a catch in itself so to garner more viewership. FOX reportedly wants $3 million viewers every week to make it even bigger than Monday Night Raw. So they have already made the below segments official for next Friday’s big event,

* RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks

* Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon in a Ladder Match

* Appearances by several WWE Hall of Famers, including Hulk Hogan, Sting, Ric Flair, Booker T, Lita, Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, Bill Goldberg, Trish Stratus, Mark Henry, and Jerry Lawler, among other stars.
