WWE has announced the return of Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, and Goldberg with an official statement, last week. All of them will come back to feature in the Saudi Arabia show for competition. The show is all set to take place on June 7th at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah. This is the first global pay-per-view event slotted in this year.
Potential Opponents For Goldberg At Saudi Arabia Show
Reason Why WWE Is Bringing Back Goldberg For Saudi Arabia Show
Apart from the three marquee names, there will be regular names from the roster who will also perform in Saudi Arabia in different matches. WWE has also been advertising Braun Strowman, AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Kofi Kingston and Seth Rollins for the upcoming event. But when it comes to the TV ratings, these names are not enough to pull the numbers up.
Hence, WWE needed to bring back Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, and Goldberg on TV as soon as possible to counter the ongoing problem. There have been reports from wrestling sources that WWE’s weekly shows have witnessed a major downfall in ratings in the past several weeks. WWE thought it would be the best idea to insert these three legends into the programming to garner more viewership.

As a follow-up, Dave Meltzer opined on the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is eyeing two things at the same time. The appearance of Goldberg, Undertaker, and Lesnar will help to promote the Saudi Arabia show as well as prevent the down-going ratings for both WWE Raw and Smackdown. They are likely to appear once Money in the Bank gets over on May 19th.
Current speculations suggest that these three names will not appear only on Raw. Rather, the company may strategically make them appear on both Raw and Smackdown, as per the need. Here’s more from Meltzer,
“I think if they build it up, if they get before the Saudi show they’ll probably have a show where they bring in Undertaker, Lesnar, and Goldberg to television. I think that maybe that will help for like a week or two.”
So it is certain that Money in the Bank on May 19th could be the platform for some major changes in the WWE landscape. The three legends Goldberg, Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will appear leading the storylines for Saudi Arabia show on June 7th. Additionally, they will also work as the marquee attractions on WWE programming. Hopefully, this provides boost-up to the declining viewership problem.
