There’re mixed reactions from the fans on how the Wrestlemania 35 main event went by. Some believe that it lived up to the expectations whereas some complaint about it being an underwhelming match. The three women superstars did tear the house down but the finish turned out to be a lame one.
Update on Ronda’s future after Wrestlemania 35
Ronda Rousey refused to lose against Becky
Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Ronda Rousey competed in the Wrestlemania 35 main event triple threat match. Both WWE Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships were on the line in this match that witnessed an awkward finish. Becky Lynch won the dual titles after pinning Ronda Rousey in a strange way.
The baddest woman on the planet was still in control of her opponents at the very end of the match and went to plant Becky Lynch with Piper’s Pit. But she botched the move and got caught into an inside cradle from Lynch to digest her pinfall loss in the WWE. Reports suggest this was not the original finish of the Wrestlemania main event.
PW Torch journalist Tom Colohue reported that he contacted with multiple sources and learned the finish was different. The original plan was to submit Charlotte Flair with Becky Lynch. But Ronda Rousey may have been unable to pull up her shoulders within the referee’s three counts and hand over an early win to her opponent. Here’s more from the source,
“I’ve been told by different people, in different positions within WWE, that that was the plan. It sure looks like they’ve just botched the main event of WrestleMania.”
By the looks of the finish, it does look like that the superstars could not end the match as per the script’s demands. Otherwise, we don’t expect such a lame finish for such a high-profile match.
Sean Ross from Fightful.com backed up this report saying that Ronda Rousey was not happy with the Wrestlemania 35 match outcome. The pinfall loss suffered in the hands of Becky Lynch make her look weaker. However, her current hiatus from TV may come as a protector of her strong TV character.
Earlier, we have reported from the rumor mill that Ronda Rousey was not in the favor of taking a loss against Becky Lynch. But she did not have any problem with Charlotte Flair. This may have already built a major conflict between her and the WWE creative team. However, her current absence from WWE might just cover up the issues.
