WWE unveiled The 24/7 Championship via an appearance from Mick Foley. It happened on the night after Money in the Bank that handed another topic for the IWC to make a roast of the company. There’s been a lot of negativity around the title ever since it came in public. Even WWE’s rival brand of AEW also took shots about this title sanctioned by Vince McMahon.

Why WWE Introduced 24/7 Championship On Raw?
The name of 24/7 Championship itself comes as a joke to many of the fans and critics around the pro-wrestling circuit. The inauguration happened all of a sudden without a proper base that felt the decision was mostly forced. In addition, the design of the belt looked stupid to most of the fans that had nothing significant.
WWE Hall of Famer Edge also voted that the 24/7 Championship is the worst looking title of all-time. Officials are aware of these responses over social media platforms and they are likely to use it to make the title looks relevant. Going by the recent reports, there are big planning in-store for the 24/7 Championship that will also make the WWE programming more interesting.
The Wrestling Observer recently reported that officials are working on plans on how superstars may defend the 24/7 Championship in between shows. It may happen over the social media platforms, once the main show gets over or at the Performance Center. This will keep WWE’s social media followers growing bigger which already surpassed the 1 Billion mark, already.
Here’s more from the source via ringsidenews.com,
“Ideas have been batted around for the 24/7 title to be defended on YouTube, Instagram and at the Performance Center between shows. The sole logic of introducing the 24/7 Championship was to make the weekly programming interesting through it. The often title defenses at any time and anywhere can bring fun elements and they eventually did. R-Truth is doing a great job as the title-holder.”
WWE already did a segment in a golf course as you can see below where R-Truth regain the title even after losing it.
Only time will tell whether the involvement of the 24/7 Championship will be helpful to bring more viewership to WWE programming. It is basically a re-run of the Hardcore Championship from the past with a new name attached to it. The company obviously could not use something Hardcore on their product since they follow PG rules.
