The main event of this week’s WWE NXT determined a new challenger for the NXT Championship but after the match, a surprise was waiting for the title-holder. A participant for the NXT North American Championship Ladder Match set for Halloween Havoc was also determined on the September 20 episode of WWE NXT that took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Check out the results,

– WWE NXT opened with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels announcing that Solo Sikoa is no more the NXT North American Title holder as his victory against the former champion Carmelo Hayes from last week was canceled.

HBK stripped Solo of the Title as he was never a legal participant in the match. Afterward, he announced that at Halloween Havoc Specials, there will be a Fatal-5-Way Ladder Match to determine the new WWE NXT North American Champion.

WWE NXT 2.0 Results (20/09/22): Champion Vacates Title; New Contenders Set 1

– Nathan Frazer defeated Axiom In The Second Match Of Their Best Of Three Series to make the score 1-1 in his favor during the WWE NXT opening contest. Frazer hit a superplex off the top rope to Axiom followed by a twisting neck breaker. He then connected with a Phoenix Splash off the top rope for the pin to win.

WWE NXT 2.0 Results (20/09/22): Toxic Attraction got a win

– Alba Fyre was featured in a pre-recorded message where she promised to burn Unified NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose’s empire to the ground.

– Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacey Jayne) defeated Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley in a tag team match. Jayne hit a rolling forearm on Paxley and sent her out of the ring. Jayne and Dolin then hit a double kick to Nile’s head for the pin to win.

– The Dyad (Rip Flower and Reid Jagger with Joe Gacy) defeated Edris Enofe and Cameron Grimes in the next tag team match. Enofe countered a move by Fowler and at the same time, Fowler tagged in Reid. Reid delivered a Code Red using Fowler’s back as the launching pad. The heel duo then hit their finisher for the pinfall win.

– Cora Jade defeated Wendy Choo in a singles contest. Choo hit a flipping forearm and then delivered a German Suplex. She charged at Jade in the corner but Jade moved out of the way and countered with a DDT for the pin to win. Lash Legend attacked Cho after the match.

– Andre Chase and Bodhi Hayward defeated Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams in another tag team match of the night. Chase tagged in and delivered a chop and an atomic drop on Trick. He hit a bodyslam but Trick fired back with a right hand. Hayes tagged in and hit a pump kick followed by a Fade Away. Chase countered the move into a roll-up for the pin to win.

– Von Wagner defeated Sanga in the next match on NXT by sending him into the steel steps and then delivering a Fireman’s Carry.

– Oro Mensah defeated Grayson Waller in a Qualifier Match to earn an opportunity for WWE North American Ladder Match at Halloween Havoc. Apollo Crews showed up and inserted himself between him and Mensah. Mensah hit a suicide dive through the middle rope to put down and then delivered a spinning back kick for the pin to win.

– In the main event of NXT, JD McDonagh defeated Tyler Bate in a Number One Contenders Match for the NXT Championship at Halloween Havoc. The finish saw the two men approaching the top rope as McDonagh hit a Spanish Fly from up there. He quickly followed it up with The Devil Inside finisher for the pin to win.

After the match, NXT Champion Bron Breakker and McDonagh shared a staredown with one another when Ilja Dragunov’s music hit as he headed to the ring to confront two men as the show went off the air.
