The WWE NXT India is soon set to be launched as a distinct brand eyeing the audience of the subcontinent. WWE does have a huge fan following from our country which wasn’t left unnoticed by the company’s head honchos. So they will be trying to please the audience of India as well as present new opportunities through this new brand which is reportedly scheduled to launch in 2021.

The WWE NXT India TV series will air in the Indian market and the filming for the show is expected to begin in January, according to a new report from Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and John Pollock of POST Wrestling. It was earlier noted by some sources that some of the officials will visit the country, early next year, perhaps for the taping purpose. But no official statement on WWE’s part was given, till now.

WWE NXT India series is said to be airing on linear TV in India, along with a digital window through the WWE Network. WWE does have a distribution deal with Sony Pictures Networks in India. A five-year renewal for that deal was confirmed in March of this year so that they could work together until 2025. The deal also allows Sony to broadcast WWE Network content for its audiences through SonyLIV, which is their own OTT (Over-The-Top) streaming platform.

WWE NXT India should be operating under the main NXT brand in the United States which will also be the second only branch after the NXT UK brand based out of London, England. This is likely to be a big step for WWE’s plans to take over the global wrestling market, starting with the subcontinent. They do have plans to expand such branches in other countries.
