WWE NXT Results (01/06/21): Adam Cole Returns; Tag Team Title Match

A big return marked the highlight of this week’s WWE NXT that changed the main event landscape followed by a massive announcement. NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions were in action while men’s NXT Tag Team Championships were on the line in the main event of the show. Check out the results from the show that took place at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida,

– Johnny Gargano vs. Pete Dunne vs. Kyle O’Reilly in a number-one Contender’s Triple Threat Match was the opener of WWE NXT. The match ended in a No Contest after Adam Cole interfered and attacked each of the contestants. General Manager William Regal ran down with security personnel and ordered Cole to leave the scene.

Hall Of Famer Molly Holly Reportedly Returning To WWE

– Ember Moon called out WWE NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez. Raquel came out and they got involved in a brawl. Dakota Kai suddenly attacked Ember from behind. She hit a running big boot to knock Moon out of the ring. William Regal once again came out and checked on Moon who was laid outside the ring.

– Jake Atlas defeated LA Knight after Cameron Grimes provided a distraction. Atlas leaped off the top rope with a big cartwheel DDT for the win. Later, WWE Hall Of Famer Ted DiBiase said LA dropped the ball. Cameron Grimes vs. LA Knight was then confirmed for WWE NXT TakeOver: In Your House.

– Adam Cole appeared in the ring to declare that he’s the true number-one Contender for the WWE NXT Championship, and he wants to be Karrion Kross’ next challenger for his title. Kross and Scarlett came out as Kross mentioned that he’s willing to face the gas station weasel Adam Cole, Pete Dunne, Johnny Gargano, and Kyle O’Reilly at NXT TakeOver: In Your House in a Fatal 5-Way Match for his NXT Title. NXT General Manager William Regal made the match official.

WWE NXT Results (01/06/21): Cruiserweight Championship on the line

– Kushida (c) defeated Carmelo Hayes to retain his NXT Cruiserweight Championship. The champion delivered a running kick and applied the Hoverboard Lock in the middle of the ring as Carmelo tapped out.

– WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell defeated Zoey Stark and Zayda Ramier in a tag team action. LeRae delivered the Wicked Stepsister as Hartwell launched herself in from the apron with a springboard for the Pretty Savage elbow drop. Hartwell covered Ramier for the victory.

– In the main event of this week’s NXT, Tag Team Champions MSK (c) defeated Legado Del Fantasma to retain their titles. Santos Escobar tried to interfere but got taken out by NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed. MSK hit the double team Blockbuster on Wilde to retain their titles and send the show off-air.
