WWE NXT TakeOver 36 took place last night where the prime title of the NXT brand changed hands. Additionally, two more new champions were crowned. The Women’s Champion retained but it appears that she had already received new a opponent. Check out results from the show that took place at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida.
– Ridge Holland defeated Trey Baxter on the WWE NXT TakeOver 36 Kickoff Show. After a flying kick, Baxter went for a springboarded attack but got hit by a headbutt. Holland then offered another big power move to drive Baxter into the mat for the pin to get the easy win. Ridge then called out Timothy Thatcher after the match addressing their scheduled match on this Tuesday night on NXT.
– Cameron Grimes defeated LA Knight (c) to win the Million Dollar Championship. Knight went to the floor to grab the belt but he was prohibited by the referee. Ted DiBiase got involved in the scene. Grimes sent Knight outside the ring as Ted applied the Million Dollar Dream submission on Knight when the referee wasn’t noticed. As Knight was sent back to the ring Grimes hit him with the Cave-In finisher for the win. With Cameron’s win, he won’t be Knight’s butler, anymore.

WWE NXT TakeOver 36: Raquel was the only champion to retain
– Raquel Gonzalez (c) defeated Dakota Kai to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Raquel took Kai to the top rope but Kai headbutt-ed her a few times. Kai then dropped to the mat and kicked Gonzalez in the jaw from between her legs from behind. Kai ran in with a Yakuza kick but Raquel suddenly countered with a One-armed Chokeslam from the second rope to retain her title at WWE NXT TakeOver 36. Former NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray is now a part of NXT who came out to confront Raquel after the match. The two faced off to end the segment.
– Ilja Dragunov defeated WALTER (c) to win become the new NXT UK Champion (WALTER’s record-breaking 870-day reign came to an end). WALTER connected with a big boot but Dragunov decks WALTER and unloads with elbow strikes on the mat. He locked in the Sleeper submission as WALTER headed to the top rope and landed from there to break the hold. But Dragunov was right back with the hold for a long time as WALTER decided to tap out for a submission finish.
– Kyle O’Reilly defeated Adam Cole in a 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match at WWE NXT TakeOver 36. Kyle went to the top for the flying knee but Cole superkick-ed him on the way down. Cole then wanted to hit The Panama Sunrise but Kyle dropped down onto Cole for the first pin in a traditional wrestling match.
In the second match that was a Street Fight, Kyle went to the top rope but Cole jumped up and grabbed him, pressing him in the air and slamming him onto the two chairs. Kyle landed badly as Cole followed up with a Last Shot for the second fall.
In the third match that took place inside a Steel Cage, Kyle was hit by several Superkicks from Cole as he was chained with the cage. During the last kick, Kyle caught Cole into the heel hook who tapped out for the finish. The result of the match was 2-1 with Kyle winning the 1st fall, Cole winning the 2nd, and Kyle winning the 3rd one.
– Samoa Joe defeated Karrion Kross (c) to win the NXT Championship in the main event of WWE NXT TakeOver 36. (Joe made history by becoming the 1st ever 3-time NXT Champion) Kross readied for a second forearm to the back of Joe who ducked the move and caught him with an Uranage. Joe placed Kross up on the top rope and delivered a big kick. Joe then dropped Kross with the Muscle Buster in the middle of the ring to pick up the win. Joe celebrated with the title as the show went off the air.
