WWE NXT Takeover – Orlando 2017 Review and Results

Here it is, the final NXT show on the road to WrestleMania. So how was the show? What actually happened? Check out here, in your favourite sports website; Sportzwiki.

The show was excellent, just like every NXT Takeover it was another masterpiece. There was a total of 5 matches that had been listed on the match card. All three NXT titles were on the line. There were two non-title matches too, one of them being an eight-person mixed tag team match, and the other one being a traditional one on one match.

Match 1 – Sanity vs. and Rubi Riot, Tye Dillinger, Rodrick Strong and Kassius Ohno (No Way Jose got replaced by Kassius Ohno)

The first match was the eight person mixed match between the stable Sanity being on one side and Rubi Riot, Tye Dillinger, Rodrick Strong and No Way Jose on the other side. Earlier that night No Way Jose was taken out by the Sanity and Tye Dillinger’s team was asked to find a new partner. So No Way Jose got replaced by Kassius Ohno.

The match was really entertaining. It was given about eighteen minutes booking including the entrances. It was physical and really fun from the very beginning to watch. It was a good idea to provide Sanity with the win. They needed this win more than the other team. Killian Dain pinned Tye Dillinger to earn the victory for his team. Hopefully, Tye will now come to the main roster.

Winners – Sanity (Nikki Cross, Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain)

Match 2 – Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas vs. Aleister Black

This was Aleister Black’s first match in the NXT under his new gimmick. And man, his entrance theme was really cool. We got to hear a hard rock entrance theme after quite a long time. His gimmick his pretty interesting too. A dark gimmick well executed by him. On his first appearance, he did a nice job. We are hoping to see him getting better in future.

For the match, it was a good match. It was quite a technical showcase, and technical matches are always good to watch. The match gave a great push to Aleister Black. Almas did a great job in promoting Black. Aleister Black pinned Almas with a different type of Spin Kick.

Winner – Aleister Black

Match 3 – Authors of Pain vs. #DIY vs. the Revival – Triple Threat Tag Team Elimination Match for the NXT Tag Team championship

What a match! WHAT A MATCH! WE can guaranty you that you will never see such amazing matches in the main show of WWE anymore. This match was booked for over thirty minutes, and these six men showed what they could do if they get proper booking,

#DIY was the first team to get eliminated from the match. Revival and Authors of Pain continued the match afterwards and they showcased something that you will hardly in tag team actions. All these teams are capable of coming to the main roster now, they are way better than some of the main roster teams.

Winners – Authors of Pain

Match 4 – NXT Women’s championship – Asuka vs. Ember Moon

Another great match. This was one of the most anticipated matches of the night as both competitors were unbeaten previously. So one’s streak had to come to an end in this streak vs. streak match.

The match was booked for over fifteen minutes, both women did really well. Ember Moon was projected as a very strong force. Asuka had to use cheeky heelish manoeuvre to win. When Ember Moon was preparing for the Eclipse Asuka pushed the referee towards the turnbuckle to distract her and she picked up the pinfall victory after the Spin Kick.

Main Event – NXT championship – Bobby Roode vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Main event time. Expectations were really high from this match and these two individuals did not disappoint the fans at all. Once again, they provided a great match, just like every Takeover event with such a main event, NXT showed that they can provide better matches than the main roster pay per view main events.

The match was booked for almost forty minutes. Just like every time, Shinsuke Nakamura’s entrance was hilarious. Fans really enjoyed it. They sang his song in chorus. Bobby Roode was given a special entrance. Two pianist started playing a beautiful tune at the start, then they began with Roode’s ‘glorious’ theme. It was a great entrance.

Without any doubt, it was the best match of the night. What an amazing match it was! We seriously doubt if WWE would be able to produce such an amazing match. Both competitors were excellent. The fans kept chanting ‘this is awesome’ throughout the match. Roode picked up the win over the ‘king of strong style’ with the glorious DDT.

Winner – Bobby Roode

Sportzwiki Rating on full event – 4.5/5
