WWE NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day has officially been announced across WWE’s official website as well as on the social media accounts. Vengeance will be the theme for the next TakeOver special scheduled for Valentine’s Day on Sunday, February 14. The upcoming PPV event from WWE’s third brand will air at 7 pm ET (4:30 AM IST) on the WWE Network, live from the Capitol Wrestling Center at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
The logo for WWE NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day was also unveiled where WWE is bringing back one of the original logos for the old main-roster Vengeance pay-per-view. The very first edition of Vengeance PPV took place in 2001 before it was changed to “Vengeance: Night of Champions” in 2007.
Then Night of Champions was introduced as a separate anthology while Vengeance was retired. It was then brought back in 2011 for a one-off occasion. Following that, the name has been used on WWE programming for the very first time, last night.
The Fiend Bray Wyatt To Have New Look Upon WWE Return
WWE NXT TakeOver: vengeance Day card received a major boost as two title matches were added to it, last night. WWE Hall of Famer Edge also made his debut on Wednesday night indicating that he may just want to utilize his Royal Rumble win to go after for the NXT Title.
The WWE Hall of Famer interrupted a confrontation between Pete Dunne and NXT Champion Finn Balor, right after Balor challenged Dunne to a championship match at WWE NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day event. (it was also made official) Edge noted how he loves the aspect of wrestling on NXT TV.
Update On Christian’s In-Ring Future In WWE After Royal Rumble 2021 Return
He admitted watching NXT as a fan to keep his passion intact to continue his career before praising both Dunne and Balor. Edge then talked about how he never got his hands to the NXT Title. So he will keep an eye on Dunne vs. Balor at Vengeance Day.
The Rated R Superstar hasn’t decided who he will challenge at WrestleMania 37 and so he might just decide to come after the NXT Title, no matter who wins the gold at TakeOver. Reports do claim that Edge will challenge WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37, so it’s unlikely that he would be going after the winner at WWE NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day.
Apart from the NXT Title Match, Kushida vs. NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano has also been made official for the PPV. Previously, a Triple Threat was also announced where the Women’s Champion Io Shirai will defend against Toni Storm and Mercedes Martinez.
