At WWE NXT War Games 2021, Kyle O’Reilly and Von Wagner will challenge NXT Tag Team Champions Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner of Imperium for the titles.
During the go-home edition for the PPV event, Wagner and O’Reilly defeated Legado del Fantasma’s Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza to become the new number-one contenders to the tag team titles and thereby earning the title shot at this Sunday’s event. Wagner and O’Reilly hit the Total Elimination finisher to get the pin to win.

WWE NXT War Games 2021 will mark the first match and the first title defense for Imperium since they have captured the belts from MSK – Wes Lee and Nash Carter at the Halloween Havoc special on October 26.
In more news for the PPV, the two teams with WarGames advantages have been announced on last night’s NXT 2.0. In the opener of the November 30 episode, Kay Lee Ray defeated Dakota Kai in a WarGames Advantage Ladder Match to earn the advantage for her team.
The Women’s WWE NXT War Games 2021 match will feature Team Gonzalez (Raquel Gonzalez, Io Shirai, Cora Jade, KLR) vs. Team Kai (Kai, NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose, NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Gigi Dolin, and Jacy Jayne). These two teams also brawled, backstage to kick things off for the show.
In the main event match of NXT, Bron Breakker defeated Johnny Gargano in the WarGames Advantage Ladder Match to earn the advantage for his team’s behalf. In Men’s WarGames match Team Old School (Gargano, NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, Pete Dunne, LA Knight) takes on Team New School (Breakker, NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes, Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller). These two teams also fought off to close out the night.
