WWE NXT WarGames is coming back on WWE programming, next month. As per the confirmations received from the WWE, the barbaric structure will be back, marking the first special outing for the company’s third brand following the brand’s recent resurrection.

It was announced during this week’s NXT 2.0 episode that WWE NXT WarGames will take place on Sunday, December 5. The special event will air, live on Peacock for the residents of the United States and the WWE Network for the rest of the world.

WWE NXT WarGames dropped the TakeOver term

It was informed by a number of sources, a few weeks that how the first NXT 2.0 special event was in the works for December 5. Reports also indicated that the “TakeOver” name may get dropped as a part of the NXT 2.0 revamp. This week’s announcement affirmed the same as WWE NXT WarGames name is being promoted that it did not include the “TakeOver” name. So, WWE has dropped that term due to that branding.

The inaugural WWE NXT WarGames event was held in 2017. The first two years there were only WarGames matches for the male roster but then in the following two years, WWE had two of the double-cage WarGames matches, per event, one for the men’s roster and the other for the women’s roster.

WWE NXT WarGames 2021 Confirmed To Return, Next Month 2

WWE NXT WarGames 2021 will be the only special WWE event to air on Peacock and the WWE Network in the month of December as there is no pay-per-view scheduled from the main roster, as of this writing. WWE will present their next pay-per-view with the WWE Survivor Series on Sunday, November 21, and then again return with it on Saturday, January 1, 2022, with WWE Day 1. The originally scheduled TLC PPV event in December has been dropped, per the earlier reports.

There’s no update available on the matches of this year’s WWE NXT WarGames. But the card is expected to be filled up within the new few weeks.
