This week’s RAW started as the Bloodline made their entrance (of course without Roman Reigns) for the first competition of the night. The Usos were scheduled to defend the Tag Team titles against Matt Riddle and Elias. But footage from earlier tonight was shown where the Bloodline attacked and beat down Elias in the backstage.

After entering the ring, they informed that the Tag Team Championship match had been cancelled. Matt Riddle came out to the arena and said that he would still like to fight for the Tag Team titles and he was feeling Ucey. Sami Zayn said that it was not his job to decide what is Ucey and called himself an Ucologist. The fans in the arena burst into laughter after hearing this new word. Riddle revealed a new partner for the Tag Team title challenge which was Kevin Owens.

Match 1 – WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship – The Usos defeated Matt Riddle and Kevin Owens

This was a pretty good match to start the night but we expected a longer booking for this match as it was booked for 8 minutes only. The match was pretty fun and fast. Owens’ ring work was really excellent in this match. The Usos hit a 1D on Riddle to pin him to secure the victory.

After the match, The Bloodline started beating down Riddle and Kevin Owens entered the ring with a steel chair. He hit the Usos with the Steel chair but avoided any contact with Sami Zayn. They escaped as Owens chased them. After everyone was gone, Solo Sikoa attacked the helpless Riddle and gave him a terrible beat down. He gave is Umaga vibes in this beat down.

Two triple threat matches have been organised to determine the next number one contender for the RAW Women’s title. Bayley came out first for the first triple threat match. She was interrupted by Bayley. They had a good promo segment and teased a feud. As Becky was leaving the ring, Rhea Ripley made her entrance for the triple threat match. Becky and Rhea had a face to face confrontation as they teased a feud for the future.

Match 2 – Bayley defeated Asuka and Rhea Ripley to advance

This match was booked for 12 minutes and was a really fun match. Rhea Ripley had been presented as the strongest force of the match.  Bayley pinned Asuka with the Rose Plant while Rhea was outside of the ring, hurt. After the match, Rhea took out her frustration on Asuka and beat her down.

Next week Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley will be fighting to determine the no. 1 for the WWE United States Championship. The duo had a segment to promote next week’s match where Seth talked about Lashley’s defeat against Brock Lesnar and called Brock a better wrestler. At the end, the segment turned violent. Officials had to come out to separate the two wrestlers. Lashley mistakenly hit a Spear on former two times TNA X Division Champion Petey Williams who is currently working as a WWE producer.

Match 3 – WWE United States Championship – Austin Theory defeated Mustafa Ali to DQ

The match was short, it was not booked for more than 5 minutes. Theory was in control of the match as Dolph Ziggler interfered and attacked Theory which led the match go to disqualification. Ali was the unhappy that Ziggler drove the match to DQ as Theory came in and beat down both Ziggler and Ali.

Match 4 – The OC defeated The Alpha Academy and Baron Corbin

This match was booked for 11 minutes and it was a good match. It seriously did not need such a long booking time, but they had to kill time so we get it. Good to see Mia Yim is now a permanent member of the OC and she was not brought just to be a part of the Judgement Day storyline. Luke Gallows pinned Chad Gable to earn the victory for his side.

Backstage Candice LeRae was being interviewed by Byron Saxton where it had been informed that she would be facing Iyo Sky next week. Johnny Gargano and Dexter Lumis came out to meet LeRae and it was their first ever reunion of The Way in the main roster. Only Indi Hartwell was missing. Gargano showed how much money they won in the JBL’s Poker Invitational and LeRae almost said the F word but Gargano stopped her.

Match 5 – Dominik Mysterio defeated Akira Tozawa

This was the short match and it was not booked to kill more times unnecessarily. Dominik earned a clean win in this match and he needed to win this clean. He pinned Tozawa with the Frog Splash. After the match, Dominik attempted to beat down Tozawa more but The Street Profits came out to save him.

Match 6 – Alexa Bliss defeated Nikki Cross and Becky Lynch

The main event of the night was booked for 13 minutes and it was also the longest match of the night. It was a very good and entertaining match where all three women did really well. Becky almost had Nikki pinned after the Manhandle Slam on the Apron but Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky attacked her and put her through the announce table. Meanwhile, Alexa Bliss pinned Nikki with the Twisted Bliss. It was a good progress for the Bayley – Becky feud. Alexa Bliss celebrated as this week’s RAW went off air.

Overall it was not a bad week of RAW. There had been a Tag Team Championship match which is very rare these days, a United States championship match which told a different story, and the whole scenario with the RAW Women’s championship was good as well. But once again, there had been a big disappointment for not featuring any World Championship segment. On the other hand, Bayley – Becky is having a good build up. Non title women’s feuds are very rare in WWE. We give this week’s RAW 2 out of 5.
