John Cena made his Grand return to Monday Night RAW. Before he could say anything Austin Theory interfered him. He revealed that he had been a lifelong to John cena fan and he had a lot of respect for him. So he offered a gift to Cena, a one on one match between them at WrestleMania 39 for the WWE United States Championship.
John Cena said no at first and completely owned him. Cena did not lose his touch on the mic. He is still excellent. At the end Cena accepted the challenge. He asked the audience if they were willing to watch the match. So it is now official, John Cena will meet Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39 for the WWE United States Championship.
WWE RAW 06.03.2023 Results & Ratings Part 2
Match 6 – Chad Gable defeated Baron Corbin
The question in this match was, who is a bigger jobber of this two. Corbin not only turned out to be the bigger jobber of the two, but he was proven to be the ultimate jobber after this match. It was only booked for 2 minutes and Gable made Corbin submit with the Ankle Lock and needless to say, it was a clean win.
The new WWE womens Tag Team Champions Becky Lynch and Lita came out to the arena. They started celebrating their victory last week and thanked the each other. Trish Stratus joined the celebration and it was a such a feel good moment. Lita really deserved this moment.
Damage CTRL interfered them and started are giving with the three. Trish Stratus laid a challenge to them for six woman tag team match at WrestleMania 39. Bayley accepted it on behalf of Damage CTRL. At the end the segment turned violent And the babyface side came out stronger.
Match 7 – Sami Zayn defeated Jey Uso
This match was booked for only four minutes and we cannot call it a worthy main event. Of course it did a good job in story telling. Jey Uso appeared from the crowd during the match. Sami at the end, pinned Jimmy with a Roll Up and escaped quickly after earning the pin fall victory.
After the match, Jey Uso entered the ring. He looked really emotional standing in front of his brother. He then slowly escape the ring and stood in front of Sami Zayn. It had to be one of the most intense moments in WWE history. Sami and Jey stood face to face for a while.
Then Jey hugged Sami and the crowd was burst into the reaction of happiness. And then, Jey kicked Sami right into the face which shocked the entire crowd of Boston. He carried Sami inside the ring and the Bloodline started beating him down.
It had been a heartbreaking moment to see the storyline between Sami and Jey end in a betrayal from Jey. But there was nothing else they could do to make it go forward. The Usos and Solo started beating down Sami as Cody Rhodes came for the help. Cody stood in front of Sami as this week’s RAW went off air.
Overall it was a very good week of Monday Night RAW, in spite there was no World Championship segment. The appearance of John Cena, the betrayal of Jey Uso, the matches, all these things made this week’s RAW really special. This episode of RAW could go down to the history books. It was a really cool episode.
But there was some big flaws. First of all, no World Championship segment, of course, is a big downfall. The world title picture for WrestleMania 39 is already suffering for not having a strong backstory, and they are not even bothered to make a strong storyline for the main event of their biggest show of the year.
The next thing we need to talk about here is, are Becky Lynch and Lita carrying the Women’s Tag Team titles to Wrestlemania 39 without defending it? There are already a lot of women in WWE who are not getting proper bookings. Why not giving the title to any of them so that more women get some booking for the biggest stage of them all? We give this week’s RAW 2.5 out of 5.
