This week’s RAW started as WWE Hall of Fame Rey Mysterio came out to the arena. He talked about his year so far and said that it had been a very strange year for him. He got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as well as he fought his own son at WrestleMania 39. He addressed his son Dominik Mysterio and said that he did not want things to be like this.
Dominik Mysterio came out to the arena and said that he did not want his father to utter his name on his mouth. Once again he accused his father that he never cared about anyone but himself.He said that he was Finally with the better people, the Judgement Day who were his real family.
WWE RAW 10.04.2023 Results & Ratings Part 1
Rey Mysterio said that he was wrong and the Judgement Day was only using him. Dominik replied that it was only his father who was using him. He would have beaten him at WrestleMania 39 only if Bad Bunny did not interfere. He showed the footage from WrestleMania 39 of Bad Bunny’s interference.
He then showed the footage from last week when Rey Mysterio went one on one with the WWE United States champion Austin Theory. During the match the Judgement Day interfered and helped Theory to get the victory. After the match the Judgement Day also beat down Bad Bunny.
Dominik said that it was really satisfying to see Bad Bunny getting beaten down last week. Rey said that Bunny would be back soon to take care of business. At the end of the segment, Rey wanted Dominik to step foot into the ring and have a WrestleMania rematch. Dominik said that he would not fight his own father but someone else would and he introduced Finn Balor.
Match 1 – Finn Balor defeated Rey Mysterio
The first match of the night was pretty good and it was booked for over 10 minutes. We are surprised if this show was actually booked by Vince McMahon. He never books such long matches on free television. Are these matches shows still being booked by Triple H?
About the match, it was pretty fun. It was an exact babyface vs heel encounter where Rey got to dominate the most part of the match but the leader of the Judgement Day snatched a cheeky victory at the end. At the end of the match, Dominik hit Rey with a steel chain which the referee failed to notice, and Finn pinned Rey with the Coup De Grace.
