Next on RAW, Footage from 2 weeks ago was shown where Cody Rhodes was the schedule to team up with Brock Lesnar to take on the team of Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. But Brock Lesnar betrayed his own partner and beat him down really badly. The duo was a scheduled to address each other later tonight.
Backstage the Judgement Day was seen talking to each other about the beat down of Rey Mysterio earlier tonight by the hands of the Bloodline. Dominik Mysterio expressed his satisfaction after seeing his father getting beaten down. Paul Heyman interrupted them and asked if they were satisfied. He reminded them that it was they are time to return the favour.
WWE RAW 17.04.2023 Results & Ratings Part 2
Cody Rhodes came out to the arena next on RAW for the most anticipated segment of the night. He did not go into any further talks and directly called out Brock Lesnar. Instead of Brock Lesnar, Adam Pearce appeared and requested Cody to leave because he was not medically cleared.
Cody was not ready to listen to him and brought a chair from under the ring. Pearce tried to convince him not to get into any fight with Brock Lesnar tonight but Cody was not ready to listen to him. Pearce had to bring out security guards to take Cody out of the ring to avoid him getting into any fight with Brock Lesnar.
The security guards surrounded Cody Rhodes and they requested him to leave the arena along with them. Brock Lesnar appeared and slowly walked on the isle. Pearce requested Cody not to get into any fight with him. He made the match official between Cody and Brock Lesnar at Brock Lesnar at Backlash.
Pearce said that he could do anything he wanted to do with Brock Lesnar at Backlash but not here tonight. Cody lost his patience and attacked to the security guards. He beat down the security guards really badly and ran towards Brock Lesnar with a steel chair on his hand.
As he attempted to jump on Brock Lesnar, the security guards stopped him and avoided any contacts between the two. This somehow reminded us of the famous storyline between Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle from 2003 when Brock was trying really hard to get his hand on Kurt Angle but he could not do it before WrestleMania XIX.
Backstage Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Matt Riddle were seen discussing their rivalry with the Bloodline so far. Matt Riddle reminded them how much he had to suffer because of the Bloodline. He reminded them that he lost his partner because of them and he himself had to miss action for months because of them. He would definitely take his revenge at Backlash.
Match 3 – Seth Rollins defeated The Miz
This was arguably the best match of the night’s RAW. It was also one of the best matches of The Miz in the recent years. To this match he proved to the entire world that he still is a very much game player and he can deliver great matches if given the right booking. It was a very good match indeed.
The match was booked for nearly 10 minutes and it was a very competitive match. The match was extremely physical from the very first minute. As mentioned above, Miz’s performance in this match was really excellent. At the end of the match, Seth Rollins managed to pin the former two times WWE Champion with the Stomp.
Match 4 – Bobby Lashley vs Austin Theory went to a double disqualification
The match was booked for nine minutes and it was mostly dominated by Bobby Lashley. It was the reminder of the epic feud these two athletes had last year. But the match could not go on for long as Bronson Reed interfered and attacked both wrestlers at the same time. He turned his attention to Bobby Lashley and beat him down as Theory escaped.
