Next up on RAW, they showed footage from earlier tonight was shown where the WWE United States champion Austin Theory got a promo on the empty arena. He said that he was doing this promo in an empty arena because he did not care about the fans listening to him or not. He wrestles for himself only and at WrestleMania 39 he would shut John Cena up once and for all.
Match 4 – Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green defeated Mia Yim and Candice LeRae
WWE RAW 27.03.2023 Results & Ratings Part 2
This was the final qualifying match for the women’s fatal 4 way tag team match at WrestleMania 39. We think the right team won here. The match seriously needed another heel team to make things more balanced. Chelsea Green pinned Mia Yim with her Unprettier finisher to pick up the victory for her side.
Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest came out to the arena next on WWE RAW. Dominik reminded everyone that he was attacked by his own father last week on SmackDown and loathed Rey for attacking him. It was an excellent heel speech. How can you not hate him after such a hypocritical promo? He is doing an excellent job and we really respect his improvement.
Match 5 – Rey Mysterio defeated Damian Priest by DQ
This match was booked for only three minutes and as Rey was closing in on a victory, Dominik attacked him and started beating him down. Priest and Dominik both started beating down Rey as Legado Del Fantasma came to save him.
Next up on RAW they promoted the upcoming Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal that is booked for this week’s SmackDown. They showed all the winners of the previous battle Royal matches but the funny thing is, they skipped the winners that are not with the promotion anymore, Cesaro, Big Show and Mojo Rawley.
Next up was a backstage segment promoting the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal with some of the competitors that will be participating in the Battle Royal. They also showed Bobby Lashley and there is no mention of Bray Wyatt which made it quite clear that something is definitely going on with him and it is not just an injury.
Match 6 – Gunther defeated Dolph Ziggler
This match was booked for only 3 minutes and Gunther totally Dolph Ziggler in this match. He pinned Ziggler with The Last Symphony. After the match, Gunther cut a promo where he threatened Sheamus and Drew McIntyre for WrestleMania 39.
Match 7 – Cody Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa
This match was booked for nearly 10 minutes and it was the most physical match of the night and perhaps the best as well. The Usos tried to help Solo to lead to the victory and they were almost successful until Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens arrived to take out the Usos. Rhodes pinned Solo with the Cross Rhodes and Solo’s undefeated streak is finally over. Cody Rhodes celebrated inside the reign as this week’s RAW went off air.
Overall it was an average episode of Monday Night RAW and as the final episode of RAW before WrestleMania it was pretty disappointing. They could not promote most of their ongoing feuds for WrestleMania 39 as they had to rely on we tape footages to promote most of the WrestleMania 39 matches.
No appearance from Roman Reigns is definitely a big disappointment. Cody Rhodes who has a huge match coming in less than a week gave a 10 minute long match which was pretty physical, and all Roman Reigns did to promote the main event of WrestleMania 39 was giving two or three appearances in total. Imagine Roman Reigns winning the main event of WrestleMania 39 after this.
But there is still the friday nights SmackDown episode remains, where there will be Roman Reigns and there is hope for more promotion for the matches for WrestleMania 39. This week raw mostly focused on backstage interviews and pre taped promos which is definitely not expected from the final episode of RAW before WrestleMania.
Solo Sikoa losing his undefeated steak was a huge deal for sure. It gave Cody a massive boost before his big main event class for WrestleMania 39. It was one of the best things of the night. We give this week’s RAW 2out of 5.
