This week’s RAW started with a Battle Royal to determine the final participant for the Money in the Bank ladder match that will take place this Saturday on pay per view. Before that, footage from earlier tonight was shown John Cena was seen meeting every WWE employee backstage.
Match 1 – Last Chance Battle Royal To Qualify For Money in the Bank ladder match – Riddle won the Battle Royal by last eliminating the Miz

Battle Royals are always fun to watch. This had been the First Battle Royal since be under the giant Memorial Battle Royal that took place back in April. It was a 13 minute long Battle Royal and there are a number of things to talk about.
Veer Mahaan got eliminated really early. Of course it took three men to eliminate him but the early elimination for Veer may look like the end of this push. T Bar surprisingly survived till the last seven. Riddle at the end eliminated the Miz to win.
Pre recorded footages with shown where wrestlers and WWE Hall of Famers praised John Cena. One of those names were Daniel Bryan which was and it was quite shocking to see him.
Match 2 – Montez Ford defeated Jey Uso
This match was booked for nearly 7 minutes and it was a fun match. There were a number of high risk maneuvers which made the match even more exciting. At the end of the match, Montez Ford pinned Jey Uso with a Frog Splash.
The Miz came out to the arena. The host informed him that is former Tag Team partner Logan Paul is coming back to WWE by SummerSlam. And he also reminded what Miz did to him after winning their match at WrestleMania 38. The discussion then went about AJ Styles who came out and punched Miz right into the face.
Match 3 – AJ Styles defeated The Miz by countout
This match was booked for over 9 minutes and it was a good match. It was a good way to build up a new storyline. AJ Styles dominated the most part of the match and as he was preparing for the flying elbow, Miz left the ring and the arena which led to a count out victory for AJ Styles.
Next up was a segment to promote the WWE Raw Women’s championship match that would take place at Money in the Bank. The champion Bianca Belair started the segment and the challenger Carmella later joined the frame. At the end of the segment, Carmella tried to attack Bianca but Bianca fought back.
Match 4 – Liv Morgan defeated Alexa Bliss
This was quite a shocking result but it was really a very good look for Liv Morgan. The match was booked for 3 minutes and there was nothing special about it except the end where Liv snatched a roll up victory over Alexa Bliss.
Mr McMahon came out to the arena. He introduced to John Cena who got an amazing entrance. He cut a hell of a promo where he thanked the fans for everything. But ultimately the return seemed a little pointless since there is no match build up. Maybe he was only brought back to gain more viewership and ratings.
Match 5 – Bobby Lashley defeated the Alpha Academy in a two on one handicap match
Theory was the special guest enforcer for this match who tried to assist the Alpha Academy towards a victory. But at the end, Bobby Lashley locked Chad Gable in the Hurt Lock to make him submit. After the match, Theory and the Alpha Academy tried to beat down Bobby Lashley but he fought back.
A pre recorded interview of Cody Rhodes was shown where he talked about his injury and how long he could be out of action because of it. He also talked about Money in the Bank ladder match and Seth Rollins participating in it. He said that he would like to congratulate him if he wins.
Match 6 – Money in the Bank qualifying six pack elimination challenge – Becky Lynch defeated Doudrop, Tamina, Shayna Baszler, Nikki ASH & Xia Li
This was another great match. It had been really entertaining thoroughly. It was more entertaining because it was an elimination match. Xia Li was the first wrestler to get eliminated by Becky Lynch who pinned her after a Manhandle slam.
Becky also eliminated Nikki ASH with the DisArmHer quickly after that. Shayna Baszler got eliminated by Doudrop soon after that. Doudrop also eliminated Tamina next. Becky and Doudrop were the final two wrestlers. Becky at the end hit the Manhandle slam from on top rope to eliminate Doudrop and win. Becky Lynch celebrated as this week’s RAW went of air.
Overall it was a good show. The first match and the last match was really entertaining. Apart from that the rest of the matches were not enough exciting. John Cena’s return was an epic thing but somehow it remained pointless. No World Championship segment and no segment of the WWE 24/7 Championship remained the downfalls. We give this week’s RAW 2 stars out of 5.
