This week’s RAW started as Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins came out to the arena first. Owens kept on disrespecting Texas throughout the promo. They talked about their tag team match next week against Alpha Academy and RK-Bro and they said they would win the Tag Team titles.
Alpha Academy came out. They kept on talking about their match next week. There was nothing special about it, they just kept on talking about their possibilities of winning the Tag Team titles. It was a boring segment. At the end, the statement became physical as Kevin Owens hit Stunner on Chad Gable.
WWE RAW 28.02.22 Results & Ratings
Match 1 – Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins defeated The Alpha Academy
It was a good match and it was booked for around 10 minutes. The match was pacy and it was fun to watch. Gable was absolutely destroyed in this match who got pinned by Seth Rollins after a Stomp.
Match 2 – Omos defeated T Bar
It was a squash as expected. T Bar did not get any chance of offence. Omos completely thrashed T Bar. The whole segment was booked for around three minutes and Omos pinned T Bar with the Two Handed Chokeslam.
Match 3 – Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair defeated Nikki ASH, Doudrop and Becky Lynch
The match was booked for around nine minutes and it was an average match. The first half of the match was quite boring but slowly it picked up pace. Bianca splashing her hair on Becky Lynch’s stomach was the only highlight of the match. Bianca pinned Becky with the KOD.
Match 4 – Tommaso Ciampa defeated Robert Roode
This match was booked for less than three minutes and it was an average match. Ciampa pinned Roode with a roll up. After the match, Roode and Ziggler beat down Ciampa badly.
Match 5 – Dana Brooke and Reggie defeated Akira Tozawa and Tamina
They are more interested in booking comedy segments than booking the WWE 24/7 Championship. It was a terrible segment by the way. They should seriously focus on the 24/7 Championship now, day by day it is getting frustrating.
Match 6 – The Hurt Business defeated The Mysterios
It was a shocking result that the Mysterios lost a match to a jobber team prior to their WrestleMania match. Miz created distraction which cost Mysterios the match. Shelton Benjamin pinned Dominik Mysterio for the win.
Match 7 – WWE United States Championship – Finn Balor defeated Damian Priest to become the new WWE United States champion
It was the biggest shocker of the night. We would not say it was an amazing match or anything like that, but Finn Balor winning the United States Championship is a special thing of course after all the rumours of him will never be pushed again. And it was a clean win. Damian Priest turned heel after the match and beat down Balor.
Next up was the main event segment of the night and what an amazing segment it was! Edge came out to the arena and asked his WrestleMania challenge to be answered. AJ Styles answered it, as rumoured. He came out to the ring and accepted the challenge.
Then came the biggest shocker of the night. Edge turned heel! We are finally going to see heel Edge once again! Edge attacked AJ Styles. AJ tried to fight back but could not. Edge beat down AJ really bad and it was a scary beat down. He smashed his head on to the chairs again and again. Edge stood tall as this week’s RAW went off air.
The whole show was boring and there was nothing special about it, except the last two segments that saved the night, Finn Balor winning the WWE United States championship and Edge vs. AJ Styles segment. These two totally saved this week’s RAW. Finn meaning the title is definitely a special moment and Edge turning heel on AJ Styles was also quite special. We give it 2.5 stars out of 5.
